So remove guns because it'll encourage people to commit deathmatching which will get you banned?

A criminal needs a gun, why does a mechanic or a weazel news person or a taxi driver need a mask what criminals wear?

A criminal use guns so a criminal to have a gun makes sense...

Ill tell you as a fact now i for sure wouldn't get in a cab where the driver has a mask on unless it was a gateway driver....

The /togglemask was originally meant for PD but might as well enable it for all factions to make it fair.
It's written in the suggestion itself.

That makes no sense, an anti-metagaming measure will increase OOC corruption?

@Triple Seven how many times IRL have you rode in a taxi where the driver is wearing a mask? How many times have you take your car to get services and the mechanic has been wearing a mask? How many times have you seen medics roaming the street with masks covering there head? And how many times have you seen a cop wearing a mask on duty? Unless its a C.A.TT or S.W.A.T Team?

I cant really say a news agency as i have never spoken to one IRL

@JackD248 I don't understand your agenda here, the post is mainly for SWAT and undercover units to prevent metagaming of their nametags. Which is happening all the time.

Why would a taxi driver, medic, mechanic or weazel news employee wear a mask? They have no need to do so. Stick ... to... the... point.

The point of the link wasn't to link you to a single image, but for you to explore why we wanted /togglemask. The original suggestion also states that PD especially wanted this for SWAT and Detectives.

MD might also want /togglemask if they're RPing in an environment dangerous to their character's health. Whether that be firefighters or EMTs.

The fact a taxi driver would never get a customer while wearing a mask doesnt mean he cant wear one in real life and if his boss doesnt like it it can be a factionrule. there is 0 reason to scriptly render someone unable to tie a mask on their face

I 100% Agree that SWAT should have masks (They already do) to prevent there face been recognised and them from an IC point of view but i agree to stop MG of the nametag a mask would be beneficial however,

an absolute no no to all government fractions getting masks .

Why should it be disallowed script-wise? As other people said, if the employer has a policy against that, employees can get fired.

@JackD248 @Kay133 I think it's time you stop responding to eachother and leave eachother be, here and in other topics, without any passive aggressive comments and otherwise. Keep it constructive in a suggestion like this. Have nothing to add? Then don't post. Read it over before pressing the Submit button to make sure you're not derailing the discussion into some useless plus or minus battle.

But how can a undercover detective justify the Kevlar and the massive amount of guns they have access to while working uncover. And bear in mind this is unlootable hardware.

I personally would have no problems with it ,if the PD were willing to compromise on such things.

That would be up to the Detective to decide. Of course, when going undercover, wearing a kevlar would just be suspicious, but I don't see why members of official factions shouldn't have the ability to /togglemask .

+1 plus it's not only Detectives in plain clothes. You seem to be referring to an incident at Bayview the other day, and that wasn't detectives. If a criminal can carry an arsenal of weapons on them, why can't a police officer do so? Do you hold us to a higher standard? Why?

PD has a development request for scripted gun-racks and armory so we don't have to carry these guns on us (although a very small % in PD has bigger guns than a shotgun). It'll probably be made once we have a script again that shows if you're carrying a big weapon on your person.

But that is beside the point. Why are ya'll be worried about blue nametags or masks? The main purpose is to decrease potential METAGAMING. Why does any faction have to "compensate" to prevent metagaming?

Well that's an apples and oranges comparison. If as a criminal I was to die and lose that much hardware it would be crippling loss both in financial means and access to heavy weapons. As a cop if I was to put myself in a  possible unwinnable position and get gunned down I lose nothing. This has been seen numerous times when cops go in 5 v1 etc. ( This is not a win/lose situation so don't derail please in any responses)

I suggested they are financially responsible for taking out weapons and docked from their wages if they lose them or their patrol cars. This was not greeted with joy by members of PD so I do hope any Armoury script factors a financial loss to the tax payer.

This would be ideal to be honest and I'd limit it  to 1 or 2 rifles/shotguns max.

I dont think the resistance you are receiving is anybody disagreeing that  less metagaming makes the game better for everyone ,but  they may see it as another power up for PD. As I said personally I would have no problems if they were willing to compromise on having their gear looted and not screaming Metagaming if wearing Kevlar and a mask.

Make only light kevlar invisible and make it avaible for civilians. Readd a script with guns/items shown on body then ez pz remove name colours.

You are free to make your own suggestion for new items to be added.

How is a kevlar vest related to a blue name tag?
Sorry if I understood you wrong but you make it sound like, "Hey, add kevlar vest and then you can remove name colors".

See now you're being funny and it looks like it became emotional what the fuck

Don't over simply things and read between the lines while you're writing a suggestion that could be written like 'Remove blue name tags to avoid MG' and wait for opinions.

It amazes me that you expect people to cope with you when you can't understand the purpose of my line.

"Make only light kevlar invisible and make it avaible for civilians. Readd a script with guns/items shown on body then ez pz remove name colours.  "

I don't know what you expect me to take these two sentences as.

"Make x invisible and make it available for civilians.
Re-add the script with guns/items shown on body.
THEN remove name colors."

What I'm simply asking is why do we have to do x and y before we remove name colors? What's the purpose you're trying to get at?

Don't get me wrong, I'm simply trying to understand.

My post was also a recommendation for you to make your own suggestion since you're going off this topic's suggestion by suggesting things that weren't brought up in the main post, such as making light kevlar vests invisible and adding it for everyone.

The main post is suggesting:
- Make /togglemask a command accessible by all faction members.
- Make all factions have white names.

To simplify this, this would allow all factions to use it so it isn't restricted. Now from I gather this is suppose to improve role-play on all sides... yeah if its enabled for taxi drivers and are seen wearing one by pd I'm sure they will have more of a valid reason to stop the driver and question him.

I'm sure really if you need someone driving around in a car with a mask, realistically gives Police more reason to pull over, search, etc so really your just asking to be pulled over.

Now regarding the faction colour... it would be nice to be only visible by those who are in the faction and are on duty. Yes it would be nice to have it all plain but the colours are also nice to see who is on duty and can help with certain things.
