Deathmatch (DM) Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player without a proper IC motive and interaction. Prior interaction should include escalation such as a robbery or a report to the police. Players may not kill victims who have complied with a plausible demand in reasonable time unless involved in severe hostile activity against them or an ally within 3 hours. How did the player break the rule(s)? (300 words maximum) The guy in the postal truck, probably 10 minutes before this instance clipped my car as it was driving on the wrong side of the road, this caused me to follow him and exchange some sort of details or for him to pay for his accident, we eventually stopped and he didnt want to so I kept following him for a while until out of the blue, a money truck came along with absolutely no intel and sandwiched me inbetween the postal truck and itself. (at no point did the postal man use a radio or phone to communicate that a car was following him which lead me to believe it was Metagamed.) They then both proceeded to get out of their trucks at a coordinated time, pulled out a knife which caused me to run away a little bit and start shooting. Mooks Posted June 15, 2021 Author Report Share Posted June 15, 2021 Hey, The reason why I was shooting ID 53 was because at the time of the incident, considering they both just rammed me from the front and back, I associated the guy in the money truck with the guy in the postal van as one team, meaning they both agreed to this attack and were both mentally ready to inflict harm on my IC character. Due to this mindset on top of the adrenaline that ultimately overode my logical thought process I shot at ID 53 at a final attempt of retrieving my car but also him being injured to the point where he couldn't drive anymore and therefore getting caught by the police. Im sorry if the last part of the clip where I shot at ID 53 excessively ruined the RP, this wasn't my intention, I simply was trying to stop you from stealing my car and getting away with it. On a side note, im not sure if the damage wasn't applied was because of a bug that caused me to still be able to walk and shoot when in reality I was supposed to be down but if the first 2-3 headshots landed on ID 53 then he most likely would have been downed which wouldn't give me the possibility of shooting him in my car. -Feliks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
salsilverstri Posted June 17, 2021 Report Share Posted June 17, 2021 Hello Sal Silvestri in my reply i am a guy who just got to RP on Eclipse servers trying to grind to save some money and im moving my normal delivery,when i pass the street and i heard this guy (WHILE HIS VOICE WAS CUTTING OFF) telling me that i hit him which as the provided video(VIDEO NUMBER 1) i did not so i told him i did not hit him but i guess he did not hear or did heard me and was trying to be a tough guy and started chasing me ,on the other hand me being a NEWBIE on the server didn't pay attention to him and went to the delivery that i had to make so i arrived there and he pull up to me while another guy was there as well and started telling me to give him some money(VIDEO NUMBER 2) which i accepted and saw i did not have any money also i did not hit him (VIDEO NUM 1) so after a long convo of this dude telling me to give him money which i didn't have. i told the guy that this act is power gaming and he actually was ruining my experience on this server,the other guy told me to get on and move and so i got on my van and started going which on the way anyone that saw me i was holding my N button and telling them this guy is chasing me help so i went to my last delivery and this guy was still on me and so i hit him to scare him maybe and i got out of my car and another guy was there asking us whats wrong so i got my knife out as a scare off because i was scaping for a while and i was literally pissed so i threatened him and i saw him go backward and i had enough so i just hit him with it and as you can see in the video(NUM 3) he pullout the gun while i was stabbing him and after that i got shot which i do not know how that was possible and as you can see he was lagging and he got up and started shooting and i was shot when i was on my truck which is odd so i drove and left CONFUSED. I am sorry if anything that i did in this scenario was wrong or the RP that i provided was bad,but after all i need to get better at this knowing the whole cities and peoples actions more but i was not guilty of anything in this situation and i was simply getting bullied. Regarding the incident that my fellow player has reported I must say that first of all I was a new player at the time and I was just getting the hang of it as they say. In my perspective, the story went as it goes: I was a new player and well the first thing you need to do as a new player is to get a job, that is exactly what I did; I took a job fixing ATMs and one day when I was on the job and on the road, I hear this guy yelling for help (the guy on the post card truck). I went forward to see what is going on and that is when I crashed into the black sports car accidently because he kept showing up in different places (I think his internet connection was bad), then I got out of my truck and I went up to the sport car's driver and asked him what is going on and then when the postal card guy got off of his truck, I asked him the same question and whether that guy was troubling him (because he was asking for help as the sports car was following him). Then the guy got off of his car and the postal card guy grabbed a knife and (in my opinion) tried to scare him off. I was standing next to the sports car and they started to go down the street so I could not see what was happening between the two, but suddenly out of the blue I see the sports car driver taking out a gun and just started shooting at everything and everybody. The postal card guy ran off as he was being shot at and even though the postal card guy was gone (the whole situation was between those two and I was not involved what so ever) the sports car driver started shooting at me without speaking a word!!! (He did not talk or communicate with me this whole time). I was so scared and shocked to be honest that I forgot about everything and just got into his car (because it was right in front of me) to run away as I was scared for my life. I must say that he shot at me so many times that I almost died but again his bad internet connection intervened (to my luck) and I guess he missed a few of his shots and I somehow managed to run away. after a few minutes I returned to park the sports car in the first place that I helplessly took it from and also get my truck back. To my surprise, I came back to a crime scene! the cops started asking me question about a homicide and that if I knew anything about it. I explained to them everything and they said that the sports car driver was a police officer off duty!! (Why did he not mention it during our interaction? or a better question to ask I think is that why would a police officer chase a new player and then later just taking his gun out and starting shooting civilians? I did not threaten him at all, I was just standing there). Then something happened that truly amazed me, the police officers arrested me for the sports car driver's murder!!! I went to jail just because I tried to be a good citizen and help others. All I did was stand there and they arrested me. Anyway, I will put the time I did in prison on taking somebody else's car and running away to save my life, not committing a murder! I apologize if I broke any RP law and I also apologize to the sports car driver for taking his car but I believe he too must be held accountable at some point for his lawbreaking actions (e.g. Deathmatching; as he did not have a proper IC motive to start shooting at me!). Anyway, I sincerely hope that we can work toward a more potent, active and friendly community as it is still growing with limitless opportunities. I will continue to grow of course with your permission and blessing and will keep helping others, especially newcomers as I believe they are the most vulnerable and have it the hardest in this beautiful city of Los Santos. Not to encourge back and forth chit chat, but this really confirms my suspicion of Metagaming considering they both provided videos with no audio, please also take a look at when the man from the money truck claimed that the guy from the postal truck screamed for help, there is no video of this, they cut it because they know that that didn't happen and on the video the green "Talking" indicator wasnt showing, we can then also confirm this by looking at the original footage I provided, ID 1's ID remained white, no yellow, red or green text to indication that he was communicating to the money truck. I'm not sure if you have actually read my statement but I did apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused for you or the RP as I was a new player then and still learning. I believe the whole reason behind platforms like the Eclipse RP itself is to bring people from all over the world together despite their different race, religion, sex, etc., a reason to forget about all the sad and unfortunate things that are happening all around us however for a short time. What happened between us definitely was not a good RP experience for any of us, I think we can all agree on that; but again I must say that however unfortunate, we all had a hand in what happened and I believe it is best for everybody to not only remember to stay true to their words and describe the incident as it happened, but also to remember that helping others in this city must be their priority, because then and only then it is possible for us to grow also alongside them, NOT against them. You say that the post card truck guy did not call for help but the green indicator on the right side of the screen from your own video suggests otherwise; have you ever took time to think that maybe you had some technical issues? because the whole time I was asking what is wrong but you did not react to me at all and then started shooting at me, that is why I took the car that was closest to me to run for my life (again I am truly sorry for that). also your own video does not have sound either. Maybe we should take time to see every accident or mishap from the other person's angle too. Maybe we should be a little more kinder to each other. If this is how you respond to a situation in a game, I am honestly terrified what would you do if god forbids an accident befalls to you in real life. In the end I would like to end my speech with a quote from Gandhi: "The weak can never forgive, forgiveness is the attribute of the strong"; so dear Feliks, let us show everybody how strong we are, shall we? After reviewing this report and the evidence attached to it, we have decided to deny this report for the following reason(s): Going through the provided evidence, the reporting player can be seen having an altercation with Sal_Silvestri because he thought he hit his vehicle while driving through the city. He decided to chase him and demand him for money, a 500$ for the car repair. Sal_Silvestri didn't have the money and after a short conversation, and while he was working as a Postal Van driver, he got back to his Van and drove off. The reporting player then kept chasing him until they met Alberto_Mancini on the side of the street with a Money Truck. Sal_Silvestri pulled over and the reporting player decided to pull over behind him. As they did that, Alberto_Mancini noticed that they were having an altercation so he decided to pull over behind the reporting player and "rammed his car". That was clearly because of the lag and the delay that the players had in this situation, it wasn't an intentional ram. Sal_Silvestri decided to confront the reporting player because he was chasing him through the city. He pulled out a knife on him and threatened him, so he can scare him off. When he did that, the reporting player ran away and pulled out his firearm, but as he did that, Sal_Silvestri was already running after him, and when he noticed the player pulling out his firearm, he decided to stab him, so he can preserve his character's life, as pulling out a gun on someone is considered to be a hostile act, and considering the fact that he was close to him, he had the chance to react by stabbing him. This was not a breach of DM since the reporting player was hostile to Sal_Silvestri. Moving on, after Sal_Silvestri stabbed the reporting player three times, he ran to his Postal Van in an attempt to flee the scene. When he did that, the reporting player decided to open fire on him, but he didn't manage to injure him because of the lag that was present in this situation, so Sal_Silvestri managed to getaway. In addition, when the reporting player was shooting, Alberto_Mancini decided to enter the reporting player's car and attempt to flee the scene with it. The player mentioned, he decided to take it because of the shooting that was happening around him. When he did that, the reporting player decided to open fire on him too. Alberto_Mancini was not hostile to you and he didn't pose any threat to your life and safety, but you decided to shoot him just because he entered your car. You said "I associated both players as one team" but in this situation, Alberto_Mancini was only watching, and there was no proof of them working together. Also, stealing a car doesn't grant DM rights, unless there was a proper interaction and an escalation that leads to the shooting, so you'll be receiving a verbal warning for this. In the future, before you attack a player, make sure you have DM rights against them. Lastly, there's no proof of Metagaming in this situation, so we will not be issuing any punishments for that. This decision is final. Unless instructed to, if you post another player report pertaining to this incident, you may be muted from posting on the forums for a temporary period. If you disagree with the outcome of this report, please file an appeal following the appeal guidelines and format.
