How did the player break the rule(s)? I was at the DOC Prison after chasing down an individual to talk to that I had followed since I saw them leave the pier. After arriving at the prison I jumped out of my vehicle as ID 352 was running right by my car. I have autolock that is set to 5 seconds, so usually, and especially at the prison, I did not lock my car (especially as I noticed multiple cop cars and prison guards right in front of me as I parked my car). I went and spoke with the player I had been chasing down and then after our interaction went back to go to my car, only to find it gone. In reviewing my shadowplay, I witnessed ID 352 jump in my vehicle, in the less that 5 seconds the autolock would have engaged, stealing my car. ID 352 can then be seen running over a guard or police officer, who falls to the ground, and ID 352 drives away. All of this was done right in front of police officers and prison guards. On many occasions similar things have happened to me and the result is once again that I have no money, am stranded in the middle of nowhere, and a car that has been destroyed and is at Mors. As before I am now going to have to work to raise the ~12K it will take to get it from insurance. I am very tired of poor RP on this server resulting in punishments for those who do it, and the requirement that the damage be "over 25K" to be reimbursed. What about the IRL time it will take for me to make money to retrieve my vehicle that was destroyed as a result of rules being broken? What In-Character justification did you have to steal the vehicle in this incident? Can you please explain your point of view as to why you ran the DOC Guard over with the stolen vehicle? Philoop Posted June 11, 2021 Report Share Posted June 11, 2021 REPORT DENIED After reviewing this report and the evidence attached to it, we have decided to deny this report for the following reason(s): Vehicle thefts are allowed in all locations but No Crime Zones. The risk that comes with stealing a vehicle is very low as you are able to use the vehicle itself to escape from authorities, even if they are right next to you and the reward you can gain from chopping the vehicle or otherwise is worth the risk. In terms of the auto-lock issue, the auto-lock only triggers after getting into a vehicle, not when getting out so the vehicle must have been manually left unlocked at the time, which allowed Mac_Blackworld (ID 352) to get in easily. For the guard that got run over, he placed himself in the danger zone of a vehicle that was actively being driven forward to escape, so him being run over is no fault of Mac_Blackworld (ID 352). This decision is final. Unless instructed to, if you post another player report pertaining to this incident, you may be muted from posting on the forums for a temporary period.
