Recommended Posts

Player(s) being reported: ID 101
Date of interaction reported: 28/MAY/2021
Unix time stamp from HUD: 1622247693

Your character name: Sully Adams
Other player(s) involved: ID 61

Specific rule(s) broken:

14. Deathmatch (DM)

  • Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player without a proper IC motive and interaction.
  • Prior interaction should include escalation such as a robbery or a report to the police.
  • Players may not kill victims who have complied with a plausible demand in reasonable time unless involved in severe hostile activity against them or an ally within 3 hours.
  • Players must be able to explain their reason and provide proof of prior reasoning if requested.

How did the player break the rule(s)?  (300 words maximum)
I was in jail minding my business when id 101 asked me what gang I was affiliated with, I told him and he continued with punching me for no reason without any prior RP, he says in the clip "Im with Grim reapers." Honestly I'm not even familiar with who that gang is so I don't know what RP logic he had behind this I've never once had an interaction with this player or his "gang" I informed him in /b that he was deathmatching and he refused to understand how he broke the rule.

I am Player ID 101 (Alexander Murchadha). Prior to the interaction here, myself and Player ID 61 had discussed wanting to fight someone. Player ID 344 then proceeded to come outside, and we began to ask him his name, and after recognizing his face from an earlier interaction between the gang 67 and the gang Tri-State Mafia, I had remembered his face. When I saw he was 67, I asked him to identify his affiliation, IC, so that he would ID himself as a member of 67. When he identified himself as a member of 67, I identified myself as a member of a gang with who has an alliance with Tri-State Mafia. I then proceeded to fight player ID 344. Instead of responding to the fight, he immediately responded OOC with "don't dm". According to the Eclipse Rule guidelines, Deathmatching is defined as "the act of attacking a player without a proper IC motive and interaction". My IC motivation was the numerous gunfights and interactions between 67 and Tri-State Mafia, who we are allied with and have responded to their calls for assistance, and the interaction was me asking him to identify the gang he was with, and then identifying my gang. I fought him, which gave him ample opportunities to defend himself. Had he not have switched to OOC, informing me what I could and could not do (which can also be seen as playing unfairly through not allowing other players a chance to roleplay responses and their own actions - Powergaming), he could have defended himself and interacted to the RP I initiated. Numerous times in prison I have identified myself as affiliated with a specific gang, and been beaten up for it. I am unsure how the player suggests this is a violation of the deathmatch rule.

Edit: I have also been informed the only individual who could halt RP is an admin. Unless this individual is an admin, I believe the proper course of action would be to respond to the RP and then if he felt a rule had been violated, report it. Instead he chose to direct the RP through OOC statements.

After reviewing this report and the evidence attached to it, we've decided to accept this report and issue punishments to the following player(s):

  • Alexander_Murchadha [101] Will receive a Punishment for Deathmatching

In the provided evidence, Alexander_Murchadha can be seen attacking and injuring the reporting player without any valid reason. You stated that his gang was having a conflict with your gang, but that doesn't mean you have DM rights against this player. In addition, discussing that you want to attack someone with your friend shows that you had the intention to attack anyone in prison.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.

Kind Regards,
Philoop &
