Your characters name: Jay Gamble

Other player(s) involved: Several people included in the footage.

Specific rule(s) broken:

5. Hacking and Exploits

  • Players must not have mods, trainers, or any kind of software installed that gives any advantage.

  • Server bugs may not be used for advantage and must be reported on ECLIPSE Roleplay forums.

  • Server scripts should not be exploited in any way to your advantage, e.g. circumventing AFK timer.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

Player is blatantly abusing the wiggle mechanic to accelerate and create massive distance gaps on us. Multiple PoV's included below (this is all the same chase).

This is obvious a petty report either way as they lost nothing, and I ultimately lost them in the chase when I took a turn and juked him on a mountain.

Me reporting someone I believe to be abusing server mechanics to gain an advantage is in no way petty, I don't care about my gains or losses as they are minuscule. I care about the integrity of the server, which is why I made a report against what I believe to be a clear breach of rules.

I wasn't swerving lol. I literally was hitting A and D

This is what swerving is, you're admitting it yourself.

The clear mixing on behalf of Jay Gamble and Ricky Brasco mentioning the swerving and how it's a "rulebreak"

I'm not sure where you hear us mixing or speaking specifically about rules vs your erratic behavior.

2) The fact that Swerving in a comet retro is not punishable and was proven useless by @froggytommy

We as official factions were asked to make this announcement at the end of January.

I made it clear the second I saw you doing it, that I would be making a report about it via PM which you replied to. You had all the time in the world to make hard drive space, etc. Think it's a bit convenient you couldn't record when I made it evident I would contest your actions on the forums.

REPORT ACCEPTED

After reviewing this report and evidence attached to it, I've decided to accept this report and issue the punishments to the following players:

  • Devonte Triplett Will receive a warning for bug abuse - Sufficient evidence exists to conclude you were intentionally using the speed bug to gain acceleration and distance to an unfair advantage. 5 videos, each showing a back and forth motion, followed by creating a large distance gap. Also, your own statement first denying it speeds you up, then saying you were only doing it to maintain lane, then admitting you did do it on purpose at least once: "He wants to do it, so will we haha, to which I then swerved for a few seconds before stopping." Meaning you did indeed know it boosts speed, after stating "and proved that no advantage was gained from Wiggling." The video evidence, your statements, and the inconsistency of your statements lead me to believe you were knowingly abusing the bug.
  • The reason this will only be a warning, is because there was recent confusion in the community about this bug. Keep in mind, however, this is a permanent note on the account. Future use of this bug, intentionally or accidentally to maintain lane, which increase your acceleration and distance unfairly, will result in more severe punishment, up to and including a ban.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.

Kind regards,
Moderator Jasmine
