13. Fear Roleplay (FRP)

• Fear roleplay is the concept of role playing fear for your character’s safety and life.

• Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are on foot or bike and a weapon is aimed at you at close range.

• When you’re in a vehicle that is stalled or turned off and a weapon is aimed at you close range.

• When the attacker lowers their weapon to type or roleplay, your life remains in direct danger.

• Driving a vehicle into an active shootout more than once without the intent of protecting a friend, fleeing with it, or using it as cover.

• Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is NOT considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are in a car which engine is not stalled.

• When you have a firearm drawn and are facing the other person before they attacked.

• When the attacker’s view is obstructed by an object or when they turn their back on you.

• As a victim, whose life is in direct danger:

• You must display reasonable value for your life and comply with the demands of your attacker.

• You cannot call 911 or call your friends or allies to aid you.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

We were chasing few people that were part of Vory mafia, we found out they setup an ambush in the area. I went to the back of the building and saw ID 99 coming down from the ladder, i pointed my Micro SMG on him from close range while he had his back on me, but he decided to turn around and shoot me while i believe he was under fearRP. Even tho i ended up killing him but he didn't let me do what i wanted to do, I was going to take his radio and listen to their frequency and get my gang a big advantage in the shootout, but he didn't let this happen with his actions.

Thank you for your patience as I reviewed the report. Prior to concluding this report, I would like to hear statements from the players as specified below. 

Gustavo_Escobar | ID 99 @Vladim - Please provide your point of view in regards to the reported situation. Along with this, please tell me why, when the reporting party aimed their firearm at your back and issued demands, did you jump forward, withdraw your weapon, turn around and begin shooting at him. As always, should you have any recording or screenshots from your perspective, it would be much appreciated.

The above mentioned players will be notified in game as appropriate and will receive 24 hours to provide their side of the story. We look forward to hearing back from you!

So, honestly at that point I couldn't hear anything, it might be because of desync, so he needed to do /vr 1, that's the reason why I didn't hear his demands so I pulled out my .50 and started shooting.

Thank you kindly for your patience as we thoroughly reviewed this report and sincere apologies for the delay in this conclusion. Following review of provided evidence and statements, this report will be concluded as follows:

Player Gustavo_Escobar will receive a warning for the reported incident.

To explain the rationale for this warning I would like to review the video submitted by the reporting party. As can be seen in this video, at the approximate timestamp of 0:27 the reporting party had a firearm aimed at the reported player and stated "hands" as his issuance of demands. Following this, the reported player continued forward, withdrew their weapon, and engagement began. Per statement from the reported player, he could not hear anything and the reporting player needed to possibly reset their VOIP. At this time I would like to inform the reported player that it is your responsibility to inform another player if their VOIP is not working and you cannot hear their demands so they are given the opportunity to reset their VOIP or issue demands via text. If your statement is true it is still absolutely unacceptable to attempt to use this to your advantage and gain the upper hand on another player who realistically already posed a threat. Considering that you withdrew your own weapon and started firing when another firearm was aimed at you, it is very clear that you knew your life was in danger and yet displayed no rational fear for your life. Due to the fact that the reporting party suffered no loss and this situation was fairly minor, you will be receiving a warning as opposed to a punishment. This warning will remain on your account and inform staff that you have been spoken to about unacceptable behavior regarding Fear RP and should you find yourself in a similar situation, you may face escalated reprimands.

I would also like to take a moment to remind @Berlin of our player report requirements and guidelines. As can be seen in the pinned post, player reports should be reserved for times of significant loss or abused for benefit. Upon review, this situation was very minor and you suffered no loss from this due to the actions of the reported player. We ask that going forward you bear this in mind and consider how a situation can be resolved with another player prior to making a forum report and are sure to reserve forum reports for situations as outlined in that first pinned post.
