Recommended Posts

Player(s) being reported: ID 47
Date of interaction reported: 2/27/2020
Unix time stamp from HUD: 1582792460

Your characters name: Chuck_Derda

Other player(s) involved:

Specific rule(s) broken:

13. Fear Roleplay (FRP)

  • Fear roleplay is the concept of roleplaying fear for your character’s safety and life.

  • Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are on foot or bike and a weapon is aimed at you at close range.

• When you’re in a vehicle that is stalled or turned off and a weapon is aimed at you close range.

• When the attacker lowers their weapon to type or roleplay, your life remains in direct danger.

• Driving a vehicle into an active shootout more than once without the intent of protecting a friend, fleeing with it, or using it as cover.

  • Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is NOT considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are in a car which engine is not stalled.

• When you have a firearm drawn and are facing the other person before they attacked.

• When the attacker’s view is obstructed by an object or when they turn their back on you.

  • As a victim, whose life is in direct danger:

• You must display reasonable value for your life and comply with the demands of your attacker.

• You cannot call 911 or call your friends or allies to aid you.

10. Powergaming (PG)

  • Forceful roleplay that does not give the other player a chance to roleplay their own response is considered powergaming. Other players must be given a chance to roleplay outcomes of actions.

  • Roleplay of unrealistic actions like super strength is another form of powergaming.

  • All statements in /DO must be factually true in the roleplay as it sets grounds for roleplay.

  • Roleplay is required before forceful server commands which may be used without consent from the other party if they are unresponsive and not typing for 30 seconds or more.

  • A player cannot use the faction management script to destroy a faction as it is OOC.

  • Government funded faction members must not abuse the salary system and must go off-duty when they are not performing their faction duties.

  • If you perform an action which will influence potential RP in the future, you must have OOC evidence of performing said RP.

    • OOC evidence should consist of a recording or screenshot and it needs to be timestamped (/time).

    • RP would only be valid for 48 hours or until your character dies and NLR is triggered. The time limit does not apply to rule 7.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

Was robbing ID 47. After trying to rp patting her down, she just replies "No" with no reasoning at all, and immediately jumps off the pier, breaking Fear RP and failing to let me respond to her RP.

Hi, this is me.

So I can post a video from my perspective of what happened. The guy started making demands of me when he face-planted into the floor and was in no position to make them, but eventually stood up and pointed his gun at me. I had to put the bag down to put my hands up, so I asked if that was okay, and then put the bag down. After that, the attempted robber decided to use an autohotkey to incorrectly try to 'frisk the man', and then stopped aiming his gun. At no point after this did he ever decide to point his gun at me for the rest of this encounter, despite me waiting for several seconds for him to do so. At this point he then asks if he can frisk me and I wait for him to point his gun at me, and in the end because he didn't I decided that it would be fine for me to assume that I wasn't under FearRP any more and could just fall over the side of the pier and into the water. He made no attempt to have held me or tried to grab me before I moved and traditionally you don't have to ask people's permission to move your character if they don't.

I'm surprised that he's claiming power gaming and that I didn't give him the chance to RP when he's the one that used a hotkey to refer to me incorrectly and also decided to try giving me demands when he was in no position to do so (face-planted on the floor).

I am so sorry that i misgendered you. However, I immediately corrected my mistake oocly, so I'm not sure what the problem is. In fact, I even retyped my rp to accommodate you again. You could have ran when i fell, but chose not to, so I dont see why you are mentioning that at all. I can give demands, but you don't have to listen to them if I'm on the floor.

In the future, I will make sure to make my /me's and /do's more gender neutral.

This is still blatant fear rp and PG though.

The misgendering isn't the problem. I'm just pointing out that the quality of the RP was clearly not your concern when you use a keybind to attempt to frisk people and in this instance used one that actually confused me for a moment. You also hear me laugh a little because I thought you were joking at the beginning because you were giving me demands from such a ridiculous position. Again, all you cared about was robbing me, not the RP.

As for blatant powergaming, I've never once had to ask permission to move my character when someone else hasn't made any kind of RP to restrict their movement.

Again, when it comes to being in Fear, in my view I gave you quite a long time waiting for you to actually point your gun and actually RP rather than just assuming I'm going to approve your lazy and sloppy attempt at a frisk. I had no way of knowing in those moments if you were actually still supposed to be putting me in danger or not, and it was a very easy situation to remove myself from that danger. She did the least dangerous thing in that instant and jumped the short distance into the water. He never at any point told me to get on my knees, nor was I on my knees. I had full control of my body and wasn't ignoring any demands.

I just want to reiterate that the only demands made were to put up my hands. I complied. At no point was I told not to move or do anything that would impair my escape. I complied with the demands of the person holding me at gunpoint and so didn't break FearRP.

There's a reason why frisking someone requires an approval, because it requires consent from the other party. I didn't give it. It's not power gaming to refuse to consent to something. The reason why he couldn't follow up was because I was outside of the fear situation a split second later.

PLAYER REPORT ACCEPTED

Thank you for your patience while this report was under review.

After reviewing this report and evidence attached to it, I've decided to accept this report and issue the punishments to the following players:

  • [Letizia_Rodriguez [ID #]] - [Non RP] - [Offense #1] - [Fear RP - the reason for this is pretty obvious technically even though his RP was at a very poor standard you should have shown fear for your life as he had a pistol ]
  • [Chuck_Derda [ID #]] - [you will be recieving a note on your account for low RP standard, you jumped the rail smashing into the floor but giving demands as though you had a weapon to her, secondly your macro's to rob someone comepletely getting the gender wrong then you dont even lift the pistol again. It seems like an extremely lazy way to rob someone and I would hope that you up your RP standard in future.]

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.

Regards,

RedHot & Drizzy
