14. Deathmatch (DM)

  • Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player without a proper roleplay reason and interaction.

  • Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:

• If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property.

• If they report you to the police for a serious crime.

• If they are not in compliance with plausible demands, attempt to escape, or call backup.

  • A player cannot kill their victim if the victim is in compliance with the demands.

  • Killing a player that has obeyed all orders and demands during a roleplay situation is allowed, with roleplay, only within 3 hours of:

    2.   Someone is attempting to take your life.

    3.   Someone is attempting to take the life of your close friend or ally, or if you have witnessed it happen.

  • You must explain your reason to kill to the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

Started shooting me with no interaction or a valid reason to open fire.

ID 4 Here. Maybe show the start of the video where my friend shouts at you and tells you to leave or we gonna shoot. Also we robbed one of your guys and you shot us multiple times when we fled the scene of the robbery. Show the admins the start of the video aswell then?

Edit: Also at 0:13 you can hear someone say that we held our friend on gunpoint. Admins can also check chat logs where we shouted them to stop chasing or we gonna open fire

  • ID 131 - Niko_Shakur @zeroboy - Can you provide evidence as to why you opened fire at ID 222 & 9?

  • ID 131, 222 & 9 @Dofas_ @zeroboy- Was there a previous engagement before this occurred? If so provide any evidence of the encounter which led up to this shooting.

  • ID 222 - @Dofas_ @zeroboy - Did you inform the parties involved of an impending report? Can you provide evidence?

All reported parties will be notified here and in-game and will have 24 hours to provide a response. If no response is given, a conclusion will be made based on all available evidence provided in this report. Thank you.

This video is literally useless since it blatantly cuts off most of the chase. Me and Quinn robbed their friend and after that these guys in motorcycles started shooting us. We fled the scene and I told them few times that stop chasing us or Ill shoot before opening fire. We injured/killed 2-3 of their members so thats why they are salty. Show the whole thing from the beginning.

I would also like to add that one of their members spotted us at bank and called like their whole gang to just wait till we leave bank area. There were same players who we shot before waiting for us to leave the bank area so that also breaks the nlr. It was also less than 30min from the shootings when we spotted them at bank

REPORT ACCEPTED

Thank you for submitting this report @Dofas_ .

After reviewing this report and evidence attached to it, I've decided to accept this report and issue the punishments to the following players:

  • ID 131 - Niko_Shakur Death Matching | Offence #1 | Attacking a player without sufficient reason or OOC proof - No evidence exists, screenshots, video, chat logs or damage logs that show any interaction between yourself and ID 222 and ID 9 prior to opening fire on them in the provided evidence. From all evidence provided, you attacked players who did not do anything that warrants attack under Death-Matching rules, and will therefore receive a punishment for Death-Matching.

I will now cover in detail how I arrived at this decision:

In the provided statements, the reported parties, ID 131 Niko Shakur and ID 4 Quinn Okafor state they robbed allies of the reporting parties, ID 222 and ID 9. Upon review of the logs, the logs do show a robbery of 2 individuals prior to this incident: Joey_Papa and Marty_Braun. Logs also show that Joey_Papa dies shortly after this incident. Marty Braun did not.

The reported parties, ID 131 & 4 then claim they were attacked by "these guys in motorcycles". After reviewing logs of ID 222 and ID 9, no evidence can be found of any discussion about shooting at anyone before this incident. Furthermore, a search of damage logs shows no damage taken by the reported parties. If an incident occurred, there is no evidence of it, and certainly no evidence that "these guys in motorcycles" were the reporting parties, ID 222 & 9.

The reported parties then state the same players who they robbed called their gang to the bank. I do not see how this proves NLR, as your own statements say that the allies of the victims saw the crime, and one of the victims lived. I would also like to point out, that both victims, Joey_Papa and Marty_Braun logged off immediately after being robbed, and there is no evidence they called for back up.

Based on all the evidence provided, and a thorough review of chat logs and damage logs, I can find no proof that ID 222 or ID 9 engaged with the reported parties in any way before chasing them. Given the length of time between the robbery, going to bank, and then the following pursuit, I am also not convinced the reported parties, ID 131 and ID 4, could be 100% sure who their assailants were. They were reportedly attacked by "guys on bikes" but this was a guy on a bike and in a car.

Lastly, and most importantly, DM rules clearly state:

  • You must explain your reason to kill the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason.

It is the responsibility of the attacking party to provide evidence of why they attacked. Simply having a reason is not enough, you must possess OOC proof that you had reason to attack. In many cases, the evidence is contained within the situation (i.e. someone points a gun at you, so you shoot back).

In this case, you were under no threat constituting attack (being chased by cars is not a reason to attack), therefore it is the attacking players responsibility to show proof of why they attacked, which in this case the reporting parties could not do. For these reasons, this report is accepted as Death-Matching.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.

Kind regards,
Moderator Jasmine
