ID 110 Fear RP, OOC AND IC Mixing

Recommended Posts

Player(s) being reported: ID 110
Date of interaction reported: 10/6/19
Unix time stamp from HUD: 88|1570374468

Your characters name: Tyler Rogers

Other player(s) involved: ID 60

Specific rule(s) broken:

13. Fear Roleplay (FRP)

  • Fear roleplay is the concept of roleplaying fear for your character’s safety and life.

  • Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are on foot or bike and a weapon is aimed at you at close range.

• When you’re in a vehicle that is stalled or turned off and a weapon is aimed at you close range.

• When the attacker lowers their weapon to type or roleplay, your life remains in direct danger.

• Driving a vehicle in an active shootout more than once without the intent of protecting a friend, fleeing with it, or using it as cover.

  • Examples (but not limited to), where your character’s life is NOT considered to be in direct danger:

• When you are in a car which engine is not stalled.

• When you have a firearm drawn and are facing the other person before they attacked.

• When the attacker’s view is obstructed by an object or when they turn their back on you.

  • As a victim, whose life is in direct danger:

• You must display reasonable value for your life and comply with the demands of your attacker.

• You cannot call 911 or call your friends or allies to aid you.

7. IC and OOC Interactions

  • Players are required to remain in-character (IC) at all times.

  • Text chat, VOIP, radio, phone and commands like /ME and /do are to be used only for IC content.

  • IC content must not contain acronyms like “lol” or “u” or smiley faces excluding IC SMS.

  • For OOC content, players must use chat commands that encase the content in brackets. For example: (( this is OOC content )). OOC chat commands are /OOC, /O, /B, /PM and /F.

  • OOC videos or screenshots can be used as IC evidence only if the footage contains the character using the /RECORD command to hold a phone in their hand.

  • Property interiors can have cameras only if the owner roleplays installation and takes time stamped screenshots with the camera angle as evidence. Exteriors only if there is an object.

  • You may roleplay a hidden camera, wire, or dash cam in a vehicle if recordings are unedited and include roleplay starting and ending. Attempts to search must be answered truthfully in /do.

  • Sexual, torture, or extremely gross roleplay is allowed only if all involved parties (participants and witnesses) have agreed to it in OOC text chat, prior to the actual roleplay being performed.

  • Only administrators are allowed force pause RP or investigate rule breaches.

  • Only administrators are allowed to void roleplay scenarios at their discretion.

  • Players are welcome to voice their opinion but should never disobey administrators.

  • A /REPORT does not pause roleplay unless an admin does so.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

ID 60 was informing ID 110 of the rules of fear roleplay as there was a situation prior that to me felt like he may have broken those rules. However it was very questionable so we didn't report and just informed him for next time. IC'ly I was told that they were talking so I arrived, he immediately started mixing OOC and IC saying "How did I break rules?" We immediately told him not to mix but as he put it, it was faster talking. However RP was not paused as no admin was present which was something he thought. I got in his car and attempted to rob him as he had escaped from a drug drop off location earlier which is illegal. I pointed a gun at the man's head and told him to get out of the car threatening that I would shoot and he simply said "You won't do that." Then mixing again by saying I'm taking advantage of an ooc situation. So he not only mixed I believe twice, he broke Fear RP by driving me straight to the police station where I was nearly arrested.

I'm the guy getting reported here and i've read the report,

In here i am telling what i shouldn't have done and what he shouldn't have done. I think i should be given points but he should aswell for breaking rp/ mixing.

"We immediately told him not to mix but as he put it, it was faster talking" I did do this because i didn't know precisely what mixing was wich they told me when they said "stop mixing"

They said stop mixing 20 times because i was finishing my sentence.

And the guy himself was mixing when he came over to talk to me.

"However RP was not paused as no admin was present which was something he thought" I didn't think there was any admin, there was only me the guy and he's friend.

"I got in his car and attempted to rob him as he had escaped from a drug drop off location earlier which is illegal." He told me we where discussing this and he was just going of he's motorcycle (wich sure i thought was shady, but i'm not thinking about the risk of getting robbed  when this IS an out of roleplay convo about talking it out and telling eachother why

we did what we did wich he said and i quote "I'm going to step of my vehicle to talk this out with you i'm not going to do anything") And how is it illegal to this guy reporting me that

i go away from a drug spot?

I pointed a gun at the man's head and told him to get out of the car threatening that I would shoot and he simply said "You won't do that." Then mixing again by saying I'm taking advantage of an ooc situation. So he not only mixed I believe twice, he broke Fear RP by driving me straight to the police station where I was nearly arrested.

He says here that i told him "You won't shoot me" thats true, and he says i said "You are taking advantage of this OOC situation"

wich i said "you are taking advantage of this situation" wich meant talking it out/ not doing anything (I did not know that people could rob when we are both agreeing before hand to not do anything and just talk it off) I didn't know rp'ing was never paused. sure i should have rp'd it but i didn't know that so i thought he was taking advantage and breaking a rule for that. (Nobody that has read every rules knows them all out of there head)

That wasn't mixing i believe.

The police station was less then 40 meters away btw. (I should have rp'd it like it was but then again i thought he coudln't do that so i drove to the pd where i knew he wouldn't "break" anymore rules like no rp)

I drove to the police station because i had no will to live in that situation and he was taking advantage of the situation where we both agreed upon that nothing would happen.

And he wasn't even close to getting arrested. Him and he's buddies showed up to the pd and just drove off when i told the cop what happend, and this guy told the police he wasn't aiming a gun at my head when he WAS so that no rp right? that would be like putting the gun away in a second when the cop was alrdy looking through the window.

And he's buddy told in ooc that they where on discord i believe because I was alone so idk how he could have thought i was on discord. so that is metagaming right? And you can hear that tyler gets a notification on discord ( that means he IS on discord, couldve been muted who knows)

First of all, you drove me to the police station where I had been chased for around 10 minutes. Second of all accusing me of metagaming because of rules you broke is ridiculous.

Waiting for admin response

Accusing of metagaming? thats the discord thing? your friend said in the chat via ooc that i would be on discord when I am the only guy on my side. So how am i metagaming?

And in your vid you clearly hear a discord private message sound go off.

Waiting for admin response.

Hello, and thank you to everyone who responded with their side of the story and explained the reasoning for their actions which can be seen in the provided evidence above. I would also like to take this opportunity to give my sincerest apologies for the delay and thank all parties involved for remaining patient while this report has been carefully reviewed. After extensively reviewing the provided evidence as well as taking the statements of all parties involved into consideration, i have decided to conclude this report.

Player Ryan_Ole will receive a Non-Roleplay punishment for breaching the Fear Roleplay rules | Offense #1.

Player Ryan_Ole will receive a Non-Roleplay punishment for mixing IC & OOC | Offense #2.

First and foremost, i would like to address the Non-Roleplay punishment relating to the breach of Fear Roleplay and the reasoning behind them. In the provided evidence of this report, it can be seen that the reporting party enters the backseat of your vehicle before equipping his weapon and placing you under direct gunpoint at close range while simultaneously making multiple demands for you to follow. In turn, you disregard these demands completely and begin driving towards the police station. The issue that arises with this situation is that your actions are in violation of our Fear Roleplay rules. If you are held under direct gunpoint at close range, which essentially means that you are in a vulnerable and life threatening situation, you are expected to display an adequate and realistic amount of fear for the life of your character, and follow every demand given to you as one instinctively would do in real life. The moment that weapon was aimed at you, you were completely unarmed and defenseless and as such you were not exempt from acting under the Fear Roleplay rules and your life was still in direct danger. Touching on the claim that you did not have to roleplay along with the reporting party because you had an out of character conversation is not plausible. The entire conversation was in-character and simply because the reporting party promised not to do anything in-character does not mean he is dictated by any server rules to uphold that. Similar to how it could happen in real life, you were deceived in-character into thinking no harm would be done towards you and that is fully allowed. I need you to understand to differentiate between In Character and Out Of Character. There are multiple script supported commands that would allow players to have a discussion Out Of Character, and in this situation neither one of you were utilizing this making the entire situation and the conversation In Character. Last but not least, It is of my belief that your first instinct while under direct danger should not be to disregard that entirely, but rather comply with the demands being made upon you as you were completely unarmed and defenseless at the time. Please take this punishment as an opportunity to reflect on your actions, and making sure that moving forward you do so in a way where this is not repeated.

Secondly, i would like to address the Non-Roleplay punishment relating to the mixing of In Character and Out Of Character and the reasoning behind them. In the provided evidence of this report, it can be seen that you utilize the In Character VOIP to relay Out Of Character terms and words, otherwise known as mixing IC & OOC. It is incredibly important that you learn how to differentiate between the two terms, and i want to remind you that we have multiple script supported commands such as /b, /o and /ooc implemented for this exact reason. In situations like these you are expected to use them if you want to take something out of character and not utilize the in character means of communication simply because it is and i quote “faster”. Please take this punishment as an opportunity to reflect on your actions, and making sure that moving forward you do so in a way where this is not repeated.

Thank you for making this report! @Rekamon

Report is accepted and archived.

Kind regards,

Dqniel.
