Deathmatch (DM) Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player or their property without a proper roleplay reason. Examples of valid reasons to attack another player: • If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property. • If they report you to the police for a serious crime. • If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules. A player cannot kill their victim if the victim is in compliance with the demands. A player must allow their victim enough time to comply with the demands. If a player informs you that your VOIP isn’t working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands or use text to deliver your demand(s). Vehicles cannot be used to attack another player more than once including a failed attempt. Attacking another player with no engagement in roleplay is not allowed. Killing a player that has obeyed all orders and demands during a roleplay situation is allowed, with roleplay, only within 3 hours of: Severe hostile or criminal action is taken against you, e.g. someone is robbing you at gunpoint. (Excluding police aiming a gun at you.) Someone is attempting to take your life. Someone is attempting to take the life of your close friend or ally, or if you have witnessed it happen. You must explain your reason to kill to the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason. How did the player break the rule(s)? So me ID 10 and my buddy (POV) were trying to steal a car from LSC so we got in the massacro, as soon as we got in the owner start popping us. Later on the cops got called, one of the cops was an admin which I asked if it was considered dm and he straight up said he wasn't sure but still took me to prison. ChronoFunk Posted September 28, 2019 Report Share Posted September 28, 2019 (edited) Right so i'll start off by saying if any rules were broken during this I will happily take the punishment; I pride myself on always trying to enrich the RP of myself and those around me. That being said prior to this, these 2 players made no attempt to initiate RP with me nor did they say a word over VOIP or in-game chat. As soon as I got out of the car to talk to the Mechanic they jumped in and tried to make off with said vehicle. Seeing this happening, I instantly take out my gun and begin to shoot at the car (In an attempt to stall the car, not kill the robbers might I add), I would also like to note that after the video ends, the car is stalled and I instantly stop shooting and order the guy that didn't run out of the vehicle and call the police. If what I did was wrong then I apologize but I fail to see an alternative, reasonable outcome to shooting at the vehicle in an attempt to stall in when somebody jumps in your car and drives off without giving you a chance to RP in either voice chat, /me or /do's. I would also like to request the version of this video with sound, there is no indication that you 2 said anything to each other in game, considering you are a thieving duo so I have reason to suspect some Meta Gaming occurring. I asked a senior member of staff for their opinion ( @XposeD ) and we both deemed it not to be DM. You did the right thing making this forum report as it gives both sides the fair opportunity to have their say. I won't take this report myself as I'm sure you have the misconception of me being bias so this will be pending other staff. alexalex303 Posted September 30, 2019 Report Share Posted September 30, 2019 I apologize for the delay of the resolution, however, we felt that it was best to consult with other staff members before making a decision, as this could easily become a landmark case. We have consulted with senior administrators, a head administrator, and the final conclusion was that: Player ID 79 - Felix_Noonham - @Lukeyswrench - will receive DM #1 for his actions during this roleplay situation. It was decided that the player did not have sufficient reason to fire on the reporter, as the reporter was not under FearRP, nor did he threaten his life in any way.
