12. New Life Rule (NLR)

• The new life rule is triggered whenever a player’s character spawns at a hospital. Players cannot force their own death.

• The deceased character loses memory of their death, the events that caused it and the information collected in that time frame. 

• Example: A player is killed in a robbery. The player’s knowledge of the robbery, the robber and their death is not usable by the player in their new life.

• All parties involved must avoid interaction with each other for 30 minutes. A player must not return to the area of their death for that time frame or attempt to retrieve lost possessions from involved players. An exception is made for government faction members who may provide a faction duty service, though their memory being lost and inability to retrieve assets still apply.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

We had a call about a druglab. He called 911 saying someone bobbypinned his bike at the druglab. We arrived and after we arrested him due to him having warrants. I discovered he had broken the NLR since his body was still at the druglab.

Its true, i breached NLR but unknowingly. i thought im not allowed to grab my stuff in my dead character and im not allowed to Remember who killed me or seek revenge. but i clearly just went to grab my Bike. I did not know it was an NLR breach. My apologies. nixu211 i hope this is not a personal matter because you mentioned it already and i apologized.

Hello, and thank you to everyone who responded with their side of the story and explained the reasoning for their actions which can be seen in the provided evidence above. After extensively reviewing the provided evidence as well as taking the statements of all parties involved into consideration, i have decided to conclude this report.

Player Ahmed_Zaid will receive a Non-Roleplay punishment for breaching the New Life Rule | Offense #4.

First and foremost, i would like to address the punishment of Non-Roleplay and the reasoning behind it. In the provided evidence of this report, it can be seen that you have returned to the area of your previous death in an attempt to retrieve your lost possessions, which in this case was your bike. The issue that arises with this situation is that your actions are not in accordance with our server rules. As outlined in the New Life Rule section of the rulebook, you may not return to the area of your death until the required time of thirty (30) minutes had passed, and as this was not the case in this situation you are in violation of the rules.

Secondly, i wanted to conclude the report on this note. I understand that you never had any malicious intent and that you are apologetic about your actions, this does however not mean that you are immune to the server rules and it is ultimately your responsibility the moment you begin playing on this server to ensure that you are knowledgeable enough of the rules to follow them in order to make the roleplaying experience of yourself and others a pleasant one. You have acquired three (3) punishments before this for different Non-Roleplay offenses in the span of a very short time, which is alarming and an indication that you do not have quite the strong grip on the server rules. I therefore, based on this, want to remind you that It is incredibly important to remember that as players of Eclipse Roleplay, we have to strive to provide the highest quality of roleplay to every player that we encounter, and make sure that every encounter is within the confines of the server rules. The aim of this conclusion is not to punish you, but more so teach you on how to appropriately respond to a similar situation should you be faced with one in the future. I sincerely hope that the following punishment you receive will be an opportunity for you to reflect on your actions, read up on the rules and ensure that when moving forward this is not repeated.
