ID 61 - VDM, NonRP

Recommended Posts

Player(s) being reported: ID 61
Date of interaction reported: 18/09/2019
Unix time stamp from HUD: 1568757963

Your characters name: Mike Liu

Other player(s) involved: 186, 103, 117, 135, 53

Specific rule(s) broken:

14. Deathmatch (DM)

  • Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player or their property without a proper roleplay reason.

  • Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:

• If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property.

• If they report you to the police for a serious crime.

• If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules.

  • A player cannot kill their victim if the victim is in compliance with the demands.

  • A player must allow their victim enough time to comply with the demands.

  • If a player informs you that your VOIP isn’t working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands or use text to deliver your demand(s).

  • Vehicles cannot be used to attack another player more than once including a failed attempt.

  • Attacking another player with no engagement in roleplay is not allowed.

  • Killing a player that has obeyed all orders and demands during a roleplay situation is allowed, with roleplay, only within 3 hours of:

    1.  Severe hostile or criminal action is taken against you, e.g. someone is robbing you at gunpoint. (Excluding police aiming a gun at you.)

    2.   Someone is attempting to take your life.

    3.   Someone is attempting to take the life of your close friend or ally, or if you have witnessed it happen.

  • You must explain your reason to kill to the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason.

8. Non-Roleplay (NRP)

  • Actions that are unrealistic or promote poor quality roleplay are considered as non-roleplay.

  • Examples of actions that are considered as non-roleplay:

• Cop Baiting - Provoking a reaction from emergency services without a realistic reason.

• Mercy Killing - Asking to be killed by a friend (Killing a friend falls under deathmatching).

• Unrealistic stunt jumping or the use of an expensive vehicle to ram into other vehicles.

• Spawning a scripted work vehicle and using it for crimes or submerging any vehicle in water.

• Swimming in water for an unrealistic amount of time or without a destination during a chase.

  • Players who disconnect during roleplay must reconnect and inform other parties in order to resume roleplay. If you are unable to reconnect it may be excused after providing proof.

  • In a situation where a player gets away from an incident where they're being chased/pursued, they must wait 15 minutes before they can logout. Players should not instigate roleplay situations if they do not have time to play it through.

  • Players who ignore answering roleplay commands directed at them, e.g. /do.

  • In a situation where a player’s game crashes or the player is kicked from the server, they should be allowed to have the same advantages as they have had before their leave.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

One of our allies got injured due to a police officer who ran him over, so we wanted vengence and decided to kill them all. The shoot out begins and in less than 20 seconds we kill 3 cops, making the cruiser of ID 61 flee the scene. He then decided to come back, alone with his collegue, against 5-6 people with Pistols and Heavies, rambo style, ramming me and ID 53 down, injuring me. Now, to be precise, in the video, we can clearly see that ID 61, could've never had the chance to see me from that prospective, opening fire on his allies. As you can see, he goes backwards, with his front facing my right, that's when I started shooting, not granting him the possibility to RPly seeing me. He then flees for a moment and then gets back in, again, against more than 5 people armed. Opening fire like it was in a Rambo movie, not fearing for his life, infact, he and his ally get killed instantly. This is obvious breach of VDM and even a little bit of NonRP to be honest.

Hello and thank you for making the report @KrismeisterSG,

Player ID 61 – Edward_Mercer – @AjaxSprayNSkull – please explain, why did you ram player ID 24? additionally, do you feel it was realistic to engage that overwhelming force without waiting for backup?

The aforementioned player has 24 hours to explain his actions, or the report will continue without his account of the events.

Sincerely,

alexalex303 and @Donovan

Firstly i'm not sure who you tagged but this is my forum name. This issue was actually sorted in-game by @Bakmeel so i never recorded any footage. Just for the record, on my screen i didn't hit you i only hit and aimed for ID53.

I was at the scene sounding the injured male. Multiple people pull weapons and demand us to get onto the ground, the fact my engine was not off or stalled i had the opportunity to move from direct fire to place an emergency call i never left the scene. As i was driving away from the scene, my associate in the cruiser had turned around to see ID 24 opening fire on the officers. I then drove toward the injured man as the officers were in direct danger and i was coming to help them leave. As i entered the scene my engine stalled do to being shot and i was unable to flee. I stepped out of the vehicle and had no weapon equipped so i have no idea how i was shooting people, i was just kicking the cruiser on my game. I managed to equip my shotgun after kicking the cruiser twice than i got injured. Without waiting for backup? What am i suppose to do let my fellow officers die, we had nearly every cop in the game already there, there was 4 other units in a pursuit. The rule that i complied with is valid under the DeathMatching rule which stats:

Vehicles cannot be used to attack another player more than once including a failed attempt.

Also were was the RP involved in picking the injured person? It's okay for him to make reports when he is powergaming?

I did not attempt more than once to hit the players with my vehicle. I aimed for someone who put my or my allies life into direct danger giving me a valid reason to attack them. I never aimed for you nor intended to hit you. If we are reporting people with 300 ping for dsync now then i could make a tonne or reports. I will not respond to any response from the reporting party, i will wait for an admin decision.

ID 135 / Pete_Wright,

Here's my POV:

My footage does not support this narrative. ID 24 (the reporter) is stood still and you hit him (and the injured body) centre on. Desync usually arises when players are in movement.

This is true and a fair point to make. Whoever takes the report should take this into consideration. @KrismeisterSG, RP is mandatory when using forceful commands against other players such as /carrybody. We take this stuff very seriously in the Triads so consider this an OOC warning.

@MrSpray, it would be great to answer to this point to. It looked like suicide from our POVs.

1. By Pete's video you can clearly see that you were aiming for me, I was literally standing still. I highly doubt you were aiming for ID 53, going at full speed.

2. Yes, I did /carrybody because I panicked, and I apologize for it, but seemed pretty clear. While I was trying to retreive my friends items he said through radio ''can someone get me and move me away?'' and the second after i hear ''there is another cop on the way'' so I didn't really know what to do, neither get shot at or go to prison.

3. Yes, Bakmeel replied to my report, saying that ''he said he saw you, because you shot his allies, he can do that'', but I decided to put a report up anyway, obviously, you can clearly see that you were not able to see me at all shooting, plus, from Pete's video you can see me desynching the whole time, so, probably, you never heard a single shot fired from me.

I can't really imagine you aiming for a person who was straight behind me, while me standing literally still infront of you.

If you've video proof, that would be much appreciated.

So, IRL, if you were a cop, you'd ram through people, without backup, get out of your vehicle and sacrifice yourself?

And, you said you managed to equip your shotgun but I don't see any RP from you taking it out from the gunrack, infact, we can see in the video that you SECURED it into the cruiser. (You previously took it out when we were just driving around, then put back at its place.) https://gyazo.com/9b7a9cf43f79f956f2607c947fa7d962

And that would be PG from your side, when you drove off, even though you drove a little bit far, I could still read the /me's through the chat feed if there were any but I highly doubt you did it. (Staff can check chat logs.)

You can see in you video the shotgun on my back and me punching the cruiser? What more proof do you need, clearly not paying attention. My buddy in the cruiser next to me saw you opening firing and told me about it, therefore giving me a right to hit you if i wanted to. If the admins deem this a poor role play and non-realistic so be it but it was not VDM and i was well in my rights to hit ID53 as i stated, just because multiple people see something doesn't mean it's true. I have plenty of evidence and for all the admins in PD/SD would know this from out PIT training that this would take into effect. I was not aiming for you and that was a fact i missed you by a centimeter. I honesty can not remember if i pulled my shotgun out RP wise as it was a moment of panic just like you picking up your friend and i didn't get to use as by the time it was in my hands i was dead, but i am guilty of switching to it. As you said they can check the logs to see and i am more than happy to take a punishment. As for the poor role-play when it comes down to it this is just a game and there are a lot of things that don't relate to real life situations. The only reason the rules are there are to make sure everyone has a good time and things function to a certain standard. I don't mind admitting when i am wrong as i said it's only a game, so if the observing party feels this is punishable i will take whatever they feel is right. Like i stated im not responding to the reporting party as im not here to have a keyboarding match. That's why there are admins to decide the outcome of the report.

Sure thing, that's true, but admins need proof and evidence, words alone are not enough. Unfortunately, that's how it works.

From my POV and Pete's, we can clearly see you firing one round of shotgun shell and then dying. So, the shotgun got used.
