14. Deathmatch (DM)

• Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player or their property without a proper roleplay reason.
• Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:

• If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property.

• If they report you to the police for a serious crime.

• If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules.

• A player cannot kill their victim if the victim is in compliance with the demands.
• A player must allow their victim enough time to comply with the demands.
• If a player informs you that your VOIP isn’t working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands or use text to deliver your demand(s).
• Vehicles cannot be used to attack another player more than once including a failed attempt.
• Attacking another player with no engagement in roleplay is not allowed.
• Killing a player that has obeyed all orders and demands during a roleplay situation is allowed, with roleplay, only within 3 hours of:

1.  Severe hostile or criminal action is taken against you, e.g. someone is robbing you at gunpoint. (Excluding police aiming a gun at you.)
2.   Someone is attempting to take your life.
3.   Someone is attempting to take the life of your close friend or ally, or if you have witnessed it happen.

• You must explain your reason to kill to the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

I woke up at Weazel News then clocked in to go on duty. I ran up behind one of them as they were attempting to steal a car in a LOCKED car park. They backed the car out when I had given NO demands. I don't have footage on this so this is not the initial situation i'm reporting on.

What then happens is I proceed to follow the woman around the block, I had given NO demands at this point. She then ran to her allies who assisted her. I was initially confused so I raised my weapon for a split second and said "what the fuck is going on here." ID 87 then proceeds to swing the car around and hit me, whilst his friend yells a slur of words that are not even comprehendable.

This is poor RP to an extent, as he then knocks me over into a situation where I would've gladly complied being outnumbered. He then proceeds to gun me down without ANY rp engagement for whatever reason. I was given 0 time to comply with any demands whatsoever, and even when issued demands they were poorly pronounced (the guy yelled a slur of confused words.)  People like this ruin RP as all they're looking to do is shoot and kill. I don't understand why I was hit with the car then gunned down, as in the situation I was audibly confused.

 

EDIT : I understand a gun was aimed, but at no point did I present any threat. When I aimed the gun I yelled "someone tell me what's going on here" but obviously these guys had 1 thing on their mind. It was an attempt to engage in RP with someone potentially stealing cars from a LOCKED car park. I was also under FEAR RP at the time, being knocked to the floor in a vulnerable position. I was in no position to attempt to engage in combat with these people considering I was outnumbered, and on the floor. They didn't even give me time to stand back up.

Hello @Chebbidy, thank you for making the report.

In the video you provided, you show that the reported party did in fact have a reason to kill you, and as such it was not DM nor VDM. Pointing a gun at someone (unless you are law enforcement) is always a threat, regardless of your intent when pointing it.
