Your characters name: Vyse Legend

Other player(s) involved: -

Specific rule(s) broken:

Deathmatch (DM)

  • Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player or their property without a proper roleplay reason.

  • Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:

• If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property.

• If they report you to the police for a serious crime.

• If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules.

  • A player cannot kill their victim if the victim is in compliance with the demands.

  • A player must allow their victim enough time to comply with the demands.

  • If a player informs you that your VOIP isn’t working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands or use text to deliver your demand(s).

  • Vehicles cannot be used to attack another player more than once including a failed attempt.

  • Attacking another player with no engagement in roleplay is not allowed.

  • Killing a player that has obeyed all orders and demands during a roleplay situation is allowed, with roleplay, only within 3 hours of:

    1.  Severe hostile or criminal action is taken against you, e.g. someone is robbing you at gunpoint. (Excluding police aiming a gun at you.)

    2.   Someone is attempting to take your life.

    3.   Someone is attempting to take the life of your close friend or ally, or if you have witnessed it happen.

  • You must explain your reason to kill to the player IC and have OOC evidence proving your reason.

How did the player break the rule(s)?

These are apparently 2 DOC guards that were on alts, I was not under fear RP as my car was turned on and running, i could not open the gate because I knew they would run inside and be a headache.  I told them to clear out several times or they could be under arrest, I also told them I will call additional units if they don't leave, at no time did I ever call for more units UNTIL I was shot down which is where I pressed my panic.  Once my car was hit once and stalled, I hit my panic button several times to get more additional units to the scene.

I also caught one of the people in teamspeak, and I know this isn't a server rule, but from my understanding, if you are on a criminal account you're not supposed to be on the legal faction teamspeak, as it can lead to metagaming our numbers and etc.  If needed I can supply a screenshot of this or just send it to the faction leadership.  It's also confusing why two DOC guards on an alt would want to stand by there HQ and cause trouble, not trying to reach but I wonder if it's metagame as well.

Evidence of rule breach:

Admitting it was DM?

This is Richard Roberts. I would first like to state that we had no intention to DM if we did DM you we have been playing eclipse RP for that couple months and have really enjoyed. When we first got approached by the man he came saying the if we do not leave that you back up will be called and that we will be arrested. It does state in the DM rules that you can point a gun at someone if they do say that you will be arrested. After I pulled a gun he then proceeded to drive back and try to run which then made us have the chance to shoot him as he didn't listen to demands. I feel like if it was DM then what he should have said that in (ooc) that his vehicle isn't off because I thought if a vehicle is stationary then you are allowed to give demands. I would also like to state that right after the video cut is when we tried to talk to him about the situation but all he did was stall and did not pause RP so that we could get the situation sorted out. We tried multiple times to talk about the DM but he would not talk to us back. We would have been more than willing too redo the RP if in fact it was DM. I believe that this is a tricky situation as the rule is really Vague. Also in the TeamSpeak situation I was not apart of that. As I said before I have been playing a long time and tried to get the situation resolved in game but he would not respond and I try as hard as possible to stay out of trouble.

I am ID 39 - To begin with, people come to DOC to mess with guards all the time. This was no different. The officer rolled up (Vyse Legend) and we were just messing with him, just talking as seen in the video. He told us to back up, and we didn't. I'm seen walking away, but I could still hear him threatening to arrest us the whole time, saying he was gonna call back-up. The other man in the video (ID 69), told him to get out of the cruiser and pulled a gun. Vyse pulled away, and we instantly knew he would call for back-up. ID 69 shot him and then I also pulled my gun and started shooting. We shot him because he continued to make threats towards us saying he was gonna call back-up, as well as threatening to arrest us. In addition, a gun was pulled on him, demands made and then we shot. Furthermore, he stalled us in the parking lot at DOC until back-up showed up minutes later. We tried to talk to him about it, which he never wanted to. It is also important to note that yes, I did join ts. However, this was minutes AFTER I was already in the cellblock. I had no way to "meta" the numbers. He stormed into the channel being extremely hostile when I was talking to Bianchi and Williowick, threatening to take screenshots and report me to DOC. Lastly, the accusation of Metagaming is absurb and extremely uncalled for.

RP is not paused unless an admin pauses it, I said that was DM in /b, and didn't say much after that.  You guys continued in /b for awhile and I simply didn't respond because I don't argue.  It's not stalling due to the fact that you guys were not RP'ing with me, that's on you guys.

Also I was not under fear RP, so per the rules that was indeed DM.  I said I will call backup if you do not back away, under no circumstances did I call for backup UNTIL I was shot at.  Per the rules, that is DM.

I once again will say this, I'm not here to argue, the evidence is there.  If YuSoHelpful needs me to respond, I will.

Thank you for your patience while this report was under review.

After reviewing this report and evidence attached to it, I've decided to accept this report and issue the punishments to the following players:

  • Richard_Roberts [ID #69] - @Richard Roberts Deathmatch - Offense #1
  • Humphrey_Henry [ID #39] @jcgibby - Deathmatch - Offense #1

As of the current Deathmatching rules, which state the following:
  • Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:
  • • If they attempt to arrest or hurt you, an ally, or damage your property.
  • • If they report you to the police for a serious crime.
  • • If they are not in compliance with demands, attempt to escape, or call other players for help in a situation where they are required to display fear under fear roleplay rules.
The officer was not under fear roleplay and thus did not have to obey any of the demands you made. He didn't "attempt" to arrest you or your ally. He simply stated the consequences for not backing up. He did not initiate an arrest procedure. Therefore this isn't a valid argument either.

Both players will receive a Deathmatching punishment.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.
