PLAYER REPORT PENDING RESPONSES

Thank you for your patience while this report is under review.

After reviewing this report and the evidence attached to it, I have decided that this report cannot be concluded at this time. The following players will be required to provide their side of the story from this situation within the next twenty-four (24) hours:

  • [Bill_Smittin [ID #24]] - Why did you knowingly scam a new player by selling him a stolen car? Why are you repeatedly using OOC methods to send IC information, and are you aware /pm is OOC? Are you aware telling people in /b that you are "leaving the server so you're being nice" in an attempt to scam them is OOC scamming? (player will be notified in-game)

If the players above fail to respond to this report within the next twenty-four (24) hours, this report will be concluded based on the evidence that has already been provided, to the best of our ability.

PLAYER REPORT ACCEPTED

Thank you for your patience while this report was under review @Moltov.

After reviewing this report and evidence attached to it, I've decided to accept this report and issue the punishments to the following players:

  • [Bill_Smittin [ID #24]] - [Metagaming] - [Offense #1] - [Using /pm to send IC information]
  • [Bill_Smittin [ID #24]] - [NonRP] - [Offense #1] - [Theft from a new player]
  • [Bill_Smittin [ID #24]] - [NonRP] - [Offense #2] - [OOC Scamming]

Bill_smittin, You did not respond here, but I believe I gathered enough information from your logs that I can say, unequivocally, that you intentionally scammed a new player. You went as far as to say in /pm that you were looking to scam a new player. You then, told the new player ICly, that he would only be able to transfer $500 at a time (which is technically another minor meta because you were using the ((New PLayer)) tag to change IC interactions). As I went to check your logs to verify the report I saw repeated use of /pm speaking about acquiring firearms licenses, best ways to make money, and places to meet up with players (this was just from a 5 minute time span). Lastly, while there is no rule against IC scamming, as soon as you start using OOC methods to convince people of your IC scam, it goes into the realm of OOC scamming. Trying to convince a player you are just being nice because you're leaving the server in /b is misleading, and makes it no longer an IC scam.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.

Regards,

Brawnkoh
