Stranger 5969_3157 (Deathmatch)

Recommended Posts

Player(s) being reported: Stranger 5969_3157
Date of rule breach: 21.12.2018
Time of rule breach: Approximately (not sure) 22.50 or 23.00 UTC +2

Your characters name: Jason Costana
Other players involved: Nobody else was involved, only us 2.

Specific rule broken:
7.2.1 Deathmatch is the act of killing or hurting another player (or damaging their property) without a proper roleplay reason.
An attempt to break this rule will result in a temporary or permanent ban.
7.2.2 Examples of valid reasons to attack another player:
• If they attempt to harm, hurt you or damage your property (or if they attempt to do the same to your friends or
allies), this also includes an attempt by the police to arrest someone;
• If they report you to the police for a committed heavy crime, however, if someone reports you for a light crime,
such as illegal parking, then the reason is insufficient;
• If they are not in compliance with the demands or if they attempt to escape or call other players for help;

How did the player break the rule?:
The player that was in my cab as a passenger, decided to kick my cab after he got angry for no reason. He did not have a valid reason to kick my cab.
I am not sure why he got angry, but he said that he will be late (not included in video, but i can send that part too if needed) for something, i dont know what.

Evidence of rule breach: At the start of the video we get to Pauls farm where it all starts to go down.

Hello, I will conclude this report with the fellowing:

Stranger 5959_3157 (Maxim_Kazakov) | You will receive no punishment

  • I decided to reach this conclusion based on the fact that while the deathmatching rule does mention the destruction or damaging of other peoples property it does not layout when it is or is not acceptable to damage other peoples property. As we can see:

    The deathmatching rule only makes mention of damaging peoples property without a proper roleplay reason, but never defines what a good roleplay reason would be. We only get examples of what a good roleplay reason to attack another player would be:

    So, we will have to decide ourselves whether he had a good enough roleplay reason to kick your car or not. I have decided that since he was at least RP'ing a disgruntled customer, for whatever reason and there was an escalation of words exchanged between yourself and the customer that the RP escalated to an acceptable degree where I could realistically seeing a hot-headed person kicking your car. Keep in mind that cabbies in real life often are in contact with some of the rudest and worst members of public, which often does result in their cars being vandalised in real life, but not very often is a cabbie murdered.

    Secondly, our job as moderators is not to punish people, but to teach and even if a formal reason can be wrote up as to why somebody broke a rule we may still not actually issue punishment. I don't see anything in this roleplay that would warrant me issuing this player a deathmatching punishment and then banning them 48hrs. The roleplay in this incident didn't inconvenience anybody, get taken to the extreme or enter OOC and I think the roleplay was escalated enough that a single kick to your car isn't something entirely unreasonable.

Thank you for the report.
