Hello and thank you for the report.

@tomjackletra Stranger 8820_3830/Mask 913_4765 (Junior_Yelle) | You will have 24 hours to respond with your side of the story.

I am going to collaborate with my fellow staff members on this one as to my knowledge there has not been a precedent set for this kind of occurrence and I can see both arguments as to why this both would be and would not be considered a rule breach under the current scamming rules.

Pending accused response & staff deliberation.

After some staff deliberation I have decided to conclude the report with the following:

Stranger 8820_3830/Mask 913_4765 (Junior_Yelle| You were not in breach of the scamming rules, however you was in breach of Non-RP for committing a crime involving a victim in a NCZ. For this you will receive a Non-RP offense (Major).

I have concluded that, while you was certainly IC'ly scammed, Junior_Yelle was not specifically in breach of the scamming rules designed to protect players from large scale scams. For this report we were primarily concerned with section 7.5.4 of the Robberies and Scamming rules which is quoted as followed:

Quote

7.5.4 Players may trick their victims into delivering their valuables to a specified location and rob them afterwards, however, the scam value must not exceed $15.000. Scammers cannot not lie to their victims in OOC form.

While in this instance the scam value certainly did exceed $15,000 you did not actually lose anything of value or were forcibly robbed. For this rule to be in full affect there has to actually be a loss on the part of the scammed party, but in this instance you were no worse off than prior to the scam.

Report Rejected & Archived.
