SmallboyRyan
Who are we? Hello and welcome to the homepage of the San Andreas Department of Corrections. We are the states authoritative figure that deals with processing and evaluating charged criminals that have broken state and / or constitutional laws. We work closely with the criminal justice system and the Los Santos Police Department to ensure our streets are kept safe and crime free as much as physically possible. Our purpose is to incarcerate and confine individuals that have been suspected (or charged) of committing a crime. We have an operating capacity of 240 inmates and we house both male and female adults. All of our inmates are housed in single bed cells with a sink and toilet accompanying them. Each individual inmate will be assigned a cell and given the appropriate clothing to wear. Food is served to each inmate three (3) times a day; breakfast from 0530 hours to 0730 hours. Lunch from 1200 hours to 1400 hours and supper from 1800 hours to 2000 hours. We currently house 124 inmates within our facility. 81 of which are male and the remaining 43 are women. We have multiple jobs within the facilities for inmates to conduct as a way to pass the time and earn a small amount of money. These jobs involve cleaning and cooking. The officers with the SADOC don’t see themselves as police officers but guardians of the peace. Their job is to maintain a level of peace while also ensuring the safety of all officers, inmates, police officers, medical staff and visitors to the prison. If you’re interested in starting a career with the Department of Corrections please see the recruitment section outlined below. Meet the team Warden Elijah Reid: Warden Elijah Reid grew up in Dublin, Ireland with his two brothers, Logan and Jake. He graduated from secondary school with an above average score of 450 points in his Leaving Certificate (Ireland’s end of school tests). He began studying criminology and forensics in Trinity College, Dublin before doing a masters in Criminology at the end of his qualification. He worked as a defence attorney for family law and criminal law in Dublin for 6 years. He would frequently transition between defence attorney and prosecutor (for criminal law). He moved over to Los Santos in 2003 and began working with the San Andreas Department of Corrections as a Trainee Officer in April of 2004. He showed great motivation and ambition and determination in his career and quickly progressed to Correctional Officer. While at this rank he showed a keen interest in the Riot Control Unit and applied and was a successful candidate with very high marks. It wasn’t long before he was progressing through the ranks and was given the rank of Captain of the Riot Control Unit in November of 2013. He brought in a lot of changes to the division while simultaneously working with the officers under him as well as above him in the chain of command. Before Reid became the Captain the Riot Control Unit (RCU) would only intervene if a riot had actually commenced however Reid always wanted to get infront of an issue and stop it before it even happened so he brought in a RCU patrol and his idea was to show the presence within the prison and to act as a deterrent and not just a solution. In 2018 he was given the role of Warden of the San Andreas Department of Corrections and is planning on participating in a huge prison reform which will take place over the next coming months with help from his team. Deputy Warden Darren Gallagher: Deputy Warden Darren Gallagher, like Warden Reid, grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He was born in 1965 to a poorer family and had 3 brothers and 1 sister. From a young age Gallagher always showed a passion for law enforcement and joining the ranks of An Garda Siochana. His father was a carpenter and his mother a nurse. At age 18 after finishing school he immediately applied for the position of Trainee Gardai and was successful in his first interview. He flew through the training process and came out 6 months later with a degree in policing. He was stationed in Galway City Garda station, 2 and a half hours away from Dublin. He began renting a small house out near the sea in a rural area in Galway which was located 25 minutes away from his station. He would either cycle or walk to work each day. After roughly 10 years serving with the force he moved over to Las Venturas in San Andreas and began working with the Las Venturas Penitentiary. He worked here for 7 years before moving up to the rank of Lieutenant of their Narcotics and Firearms Division. In 2015 he put in a transfer request from the LVP to go work with the San Andreas Department of Corrections. This was a step up as the LVP only dealt with local criminals and crimes of lesser seriousness. He was appointed as the Captain for the Narcotics Containment Unit as he had experience working with a similar division back in Las Venturas. In late 2016 he was offered the role of Commander and then in 2018 with the promotion of Warden Reid, Gallagher was given the role of Deputy Warden. This will help you for next time as you can learn from your mistakes! Passed your interview? Congratulations! You will receive the good news in the form of an email and will be invited to attend the penitentiary on the next business day to begin your career. You will meet with an officer from the T&R team again or a member of our command team and brought through some training exercises. You will be issued your equipment and brought on a tour of the facility. You will be given a direct link to our handbook and directed to read up on it and ask questions if you’re unsure. You will be provided with everything you need to get started and will be trained on how to provide basic occupational first aid in the instance you come across someone who needs it. You will also be informed of our force continuum and how we utilize it. From here it’s a learning and training game for you! Goodluck and we look forward to meeting you. Prison Rules for inmates: No acts of violence, aggression or intimidation towards any member of staff, the public, LSPD, LSMED or each other. Failure to comply with this rule will result in disciplinary action up to and including additional time being added to your sentence and time in segregation. Avoid getting involved in any gangs or criminal organisations - Do not “click up” with any other inmates. No selling, manufacturing, possession or usage of any illegal substances are allowed. No creating, selling, distribution or possession of any illegal items that could be considered weapons or tools to cause damage to property or people. Treat each individual person as you would like to be treated. Rehabilitation is our main goal; we ask that each person get a job. Regardless of it be a janitor, a porter or a cook we ask that you put an effort to get a job while serving your time. No illegal bartering / trading or any illegal items or contraband. No crime or law breaking of any kind is allowed This list is not exhaustive and may be edited and updated at anytime with or without informing the public. Prison Commissary Our prison, like many others, has a prison commissary system. For those of you that don't know this is a 'shop' like system which allows for inmates to purchase specific treats and luxuries for real money while living inside the correctional facility. For a fee prisoners can purchase these items. Please see attached below for a list of each item available in our shop. Please be aware items may become sold out and will not be available until restocked. Items for sale in our prison commissary: Cigarettes Fizzy drinks Chocolate Books Playing cards Potato chips Sanitary products (deodorants, gels, creams) Shower shoes Candy / sweets. Coffee / Tea Milk Sugar Salt / Pepper Shaving products Dental care Vitamins Condiments Ice cream Stationary (Paper, pencils etc) Soap (( OOC INFORMATION )) This faction is currently being set up and is still a work in progress. We will work closely with members of the LSPD, admin team as well as players of the server. Our main goal for this faction is to bring more diversity and more role play to the server. We see in character punishments as just that; in character. You shouldn't be bored while in prison and be forced to go AFK for 2 hours. We want to bring more roleplay and more fun to being arrested. Our plans for the future involve allowing the prison to no longer be considered an NCZ, allow break outs, allow riots and allow for contraband to be brought in via visitation and even a system where inmates can make knives and other weapons from items they obtain in the prison or is brought in by a visitor. Over the next few weeks you may see members of the DoC inside the prison and please don't hesitate to roleplay with them. We are not yet fully set up and are working close with the admin team to get there. Please be patient and please reply to this thread with any suggestions you may have and how you feel we can work on it. We will use this thread to post screenshots of our RP and will keep the public up to date with all new changes. Thank you. ~ Reid and Cross.
