Your character name: James Famingo
Other player(s) involved: Adrian Dox

Specific rule(s) broken:

13. Fear Roleplay (FRP)

  • Fear RP is showing appropriate care and concern to preserve your character's safety and life.
  • If a player's life is in direct danger they must RP adequate fear and comply with demands.
  • If an attacker lowers their weapon to type, victims which were under fear RP remain as so.
  • A player is not showing proper fear if they run while on foot/bike or in an unpowered vehicle and a weapon is aimed at them at close range, or if they drive into an active shootout more than once without the intent of providing cover or fleeing with it.
  • A player still has the option to react if they are in a powered vehicle, if they already have a weapon drawn facing their attacker, or if their attacker's view is obstructed by an object.

9. Non-Roleplay (NRP)

  • Actions that are unrealistic or promote poor quality roleplay are considered as non-roleplay.
  • Players are required to remain IC at all times. RP can only be paused or voided by admins.
  • If a crash / disconnect occurs, players must post in the crash reports discord channel and contact all parties to resume. Players reconnecting must be given all opportunities held prior.
  • Players should not instigate situations they do not have time to play through. If a player is chased they must wait 15 minutes before they can log out of the game.
  • Players can’t depict their character with real images or game images not possible on ECRP.
  • Non-off road vehicles may not drive up mountains or steep hills. LSEMS & Mechanics are exempt.
  • Examples:
    • Ignoring RP,
    • baiting government services without proper IC reason,
    • asking to be killed or forcing your own death,
    • unrealistic stunt jumping,
    • misusing expensive vehicles,
    • using script work vehicles for other purpose,
    • submerging any vehicle in water intentionally,
    • swimming for an unrealistic amount of time in a chase,
    • stealing from / tampering with an OOC F4 menu,
    • or using a vehicle to block doors (i.e. a bank or a store).
    •

How did the player break the rule(s)?  (300 words maximum)\
Myself and my faction had just evaded from a mass pursuit, and one of ours had gotten caught. In the meanwhile, while driving to the bank, I noticed that there was a Scout behind me calling for backup- which eventually turned into a chase.

The pursuit went on for about 5 minutes before we got boxed inside Red Parking, which I got out of- followed by an immediate use of lethal force which I personally feel like was unwarranted, since all I (and my faction) did was evade without causing any sorts of situations that involved weapons. After getting away from Red Parking, ID 146 decides to conveniently swerve into my lane right in front of my vehicle which was excessively speeding to a point where a collision could cause someone's death.

I believe that putting yourself in a position like that, where you could harm your suspects and even yourself is not the smartest move, since it will likely result in some sort of fatality, and I definitely do not think that it promotes suitable and enjoyable roleplay. I have been in a similar situation before when I was a part of SD, and I was reprimanded by Flow to not put myself in a stance where I could cause destruction to government property + kill someone in the process.

Even in the chases before this, there were multiple instances where LEO's had attempted to (and successfully) head on'd my members- and although I did get away in the end, this seems the be a rising trend in every pursuit that I have seen/been in and I honestly think that it contributes further to the toxicity between PD/SD and Criminals.

Evidence of rule breach
I personally do not have any POV, but my passenger (Adrian Dox) and one of the participants of the pursuit (Oscar Black) have provided me with their POV's to use here. The reported party was also asked to save theirs in PM's.

The point of view from the reporting party is accurate, I didn't colide with him, I was gonna block the road off but  Oscar blocked my view and the paragon was there so I simply intercepted him to slow him down, as officers already tried to shoot his tires. If i wanted to ram him i would not hit my breaks nor make space for the units to pass through.  I can give more details if you want just let me know.  Also I am pretty sure that Sanchez was aiming a gun at them but they completely ignored it as he demands them to get out of the car now. To me this looks like a petty report, you report me for trying to slow you down yet you ignore when a gun is aimed at you and clear demands are given even tho your vehicle was unpowered for more than 10 seconds and you even wheelspinned while boxed in under gunpoint, got shot based on your POV.   From ID 212   [ 00:02  -  00:09]  https://streamable.com/at4x28  and you report me for having a cruiser there to slow you down?
And I do agree,

Because if you actually  feared for your life, you would not escalate the situation, making us shoot you and trying to stop you with unorthodox ways just because you have a paragon and it's easy to evade. I mean I didn't even hit your vehicle and you report me over what would have happened.

And just to clarify, the intention was for me to block the road as he was occupied at red parking, you can see me already swerving to the incorrect lane before he enters the tunel but I took advantage of the situation, made him slow down and then reversed for units to come through.

The attempt of boxing me in was very clearly flawed, I was confident that I'd be able to pull myself out since I had done this before (here is one instance - https://streamable.com/br4dpq) and as expected I got out in ~5 seconds let alone 10. My vehicle was very clearly running, I was aware that the weapon was not aimed towards me directly, but towards the back of my vehicle on the passenger side, and there was a massive gap that I could easily get out of.

I wouldn't willingly put up a video of myself breaking rules, I have been spoken to about being aware of my surroundings during these kinds of scenarios before and I took a calculated decision based on what I thought was best for me and my passenger. I'm sure if Silky or anybody else involved in that situation had a problem with it, they would have reached out to me then and there and I would have cooperated accordingly, but no one seemed to have a issue even after the chase had concluded which led me to believe that it did not affect anyone negatively.

REPORT DENIED
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

After our deliberations, we’ve concluded that this report will be denied for the following reason(s):

  • We do not feel as though either party involved in this report has broken any rules to the extent that warrants an admin log. That being said, we DO NOT consider the actions seen by either party acceptable and will not act with such leniency should these actions be repeated in the future.

  • @Papadakis Driving your vehicle in front of an already moving vehicle head-on is not properly valuing your life, even if your intention is to make them slow down. Should you want to make a moving vehicle slow down, you should have a pre-established roadblock, attempt a rolling box stop, or use spike strips in tandem with other non life-threatening measures. We will be sending out announcements to LEO factions to ensure that this is understood across all of their members.

  • @Famingo You may have felt you had an escape, but you borderline forced its existence through a burnout maneuver while being actively threatened with deadly force. As per the previous note I've placed on your account, please be more vigilant in situations like this.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

This decision is final. Unless instructed to, if you post another player report pertaining to this incident, you may be muted from posting on the forums for a temporary period. If you disagree with the outcome of this report, please file an appeal following the appeal guidelines and format.

Regards,
jason
