How did the player break the rule(s)? (300 words maximum):

Li and Jade had been hitting various stores for around 2 hours. Being young and dumb, after successfully carrying out around 3 stores with the police seemingly occupied they decided to try hit a bank with just the two of them. Li's job was to distract the clerks and keep an eye on the exterior whilst Jade drilled into the vault. Obviously this was a stupid plan and OOC we both absolutely expected to get caught before even getting into the vault. As soon as Li heard sirens he called to his sister to leave and get into the car.

On exiting the bank there were desync issues with the first responders but I was able to get clear without Jade.

After this however not 2 minutes into the pursuit, as I was heading down towards great ocean and the fuel station near it myself and my car immediately and without warning started getting shot by what I've been told was a cruiser with Pierce Hardy and Madison Hall inside. Aside from the fact we were still in a built up area and I was unarmed and not posing direct threats to anybody, I did not consider there to be any reasonable escalation that could've warranted deadly force in this situation, especially where collateral needed to be considered (built up area/public highway).

It resulted in over 3 hours jail time, large fines and a destroyed car for what was under 20 minutes of roleplay thanks to the aforementioned actions.

 

Evidence of rule breach

I do not have footage as for performance sakes I tend not to run OBS unless I believe I'm entering a scenario where rules may be breached. However I did inform Joseph Couch (ID 164) to relay an fchat message for people involved to save evidence

@jason Post has been edited, I was informed of the occupants of the cruiser opening fire by other PD members involved. Even if I had been recording, the footage would've only shown the bullets hitting my car as I did not turn my camera back at any point.

Good afternoon,

I will respond to this briefly to begin with as I feel on a preliminary basis this report can be denied. Further, I do not record and cannot provide you a recording of any footage should it be requested. 

The reporting party alleges inter alia:-

This is simply false. The reporting party had ran over Dean_Molloy outside the bank after backing up his car and then driving into him. He ran him over and injured him to the point he was downed. This can be confirmed by the death logs. On that basis, the report in my view can be resolved as proper basis for escalation and response to use lethal force on a vehicle is present.
