How did the player break the rule(s)? 
A group of people wearing black opened fire on our cruiser as we drove into DOC. They had no affiliation with our suspect which can be heard in the evidence. The suspect stated "I'm not in a gang" and the shooter stated "this guy is a tourist" showing their lack of recognition for each other. After injuring us they then proceeded to execute my partner and myself even though they had no reason to shoot us in the first place.

I Tommi Jackson (id76) and some friends were in a situation with police due to some activity that occurred. We were on comms with a friend that had been picked up in the middle of us escaping a situation where we were caught robbing a store on rt 68. Friend not mentioned in initial report was Scott Dawson who had seemed to have been captured by police. Since we dabble in criminal activity we knew the process of going to jail and we wanted to try and free him from police custody before being processed into DOC. We planned on the fly to ambush the police on the road to DOC. We set up in bushes along the road awaiting a police vehicle coming from palomino freeway where our friend on comms said he was picked up. We watched as a police scout came from the same direction with what seemed to be our friend in the back seat. We inacted our plan and shot the tires out and ambushed the police. To our surprise it was not our friend in the backseat and was truly an IC mistake. At that point we went on to complete evade police successfully after some doc officers arrived on scene. We were not deathmatching as we truly thought it was our friend in the backseat and the police that encountered us at the gas station on rt 68 during our robbery. Simple misunderstanding.

Unfortunately my GeForce did not catch any recording for this, which is a real bummer because it could prove everything I am about to say. However, after you read my explanation any Police involved with the capture and chase of Douglass Scott (not sure of his ID at this time) would be able to corroborate the following elements of my explanation. He was later taken to DOC and served time there - he was our ally.

 IDs 76, 17 (Myself), 43, 188 had all planned to rob some stores.  We successfully accomplished this with multiple stores until our last one where the police came upon us on Rt 68.  At that point we were being chased between all of us at different points.  All of us were able to get away except one person Douglass Scott (who is not on this report).  He came over the radio saying the radio frequency was compromised and that the Police had him.  We asked him where he was at exactly in case they hadnt gotten to him yet.  He said he was on Palomino road.  At that point, the above mentioned IDs drove there on bikes to attempt to get our friend out of police custody.  

 

 

Unfortunately for us, there were not only a multitude of police (in at least two scouts we all noted) but there appeared to be a helicopter overseeing the arrest.  We were getting in to position to fire upon the police to get our guy out when we realized the helicopter was on scene, which made it very difficult to free him at the time since we could not compete with that level of weaponry.

 

 

So we fled the scene once more evading any additional arrests and quickly planned to ambush the police on their way in to DOC - our characters being criminals they would know and understand standard procedures for arrests and booking.  We also agreed if there were too many Police we would just back off.

 

 

So the above mentioned IDs waited in bushes outside DOC ready to get our guy free.  As we waited we saw a single Police Scout coming from the way of Palomino road (which is where our guy got arrested) and were confidant that would be our cruiser as they appeared to be heading for DOC.  As they entered in to our view, we could see someone in the back and at that point opened fire upon the cruiser.  We shot out the tires and were able to shoot the police.  Upon coming to the cruiser we could see the guy in the back was not our guy.  We did not have much choice, as our characters are criminals, it was best to execute the police on the spot given our case of mistaken identity.  ID 188 in the footage provided said "who the fuck is that?" because he thought like we all did that we had just freed our guy and it turned out it wasnt.  I came up and said "Get him out" because I did not realize until I got a closer look we did indeed NOT get our guy.

 

 

We fled and were later chased by the police, and once again we were able to evade.  I can completely see why the two police officers would assume we were engaging in a Deathmatch.  However, this was completely a mistake IC and we had more than enough motive and proper reason to fire upon the police at the time.  Upon realizing our mistake, it would not have been realistic to allow the officers to live as we did not want descriptions of what we were wearing, voices, etc etc to be put out there.

 

 

So while we did not get our guy out, in our character minds were about to free him and  thus had plenty of reason, motivation and assumption to fire upon the police.  It should be noted we did not attempt to set up ambushes or engage in intentionally firing upon police following this situation just for the sake of murdering someone.

 

I did want to add further that ID 188 did not know that you could not call someone a "Tourist" -  for better or worse this type of language is used thoroughly on the server and I myself did not understand until some months back that it was not a good way to describe things .  Again, if I had bodycam it would be seen me telling him that was not acceptable to do.

ID 188 Kay Porque here my story is fully the same as ID 17 Josiah Jackson's. Also I do apologize for calling the prisoner in the cruiser a ''tourist'', I simply didn't know that I shouldn't call people with the new player tag a tourist but I have since been informed and I will no longer make this mistake.

We were on a mission to rescue our friend Douglas Scott from police custody. Just about 10 minutes prior to setting up an ambush at the Department of Corrections, we had witnessed him being chased and ultimately arrested at Palomino Freeway. Spectating his arrest we noticed 2 Scout vehicles at the scene, so that's what we expected him to be transported in. Like ID 17 (Josiah Jackson) stated, we would have intervened at his point of arrest if it weren't for multiple police officers being present, accompanied by a helicopter in the sky. Due to the nature of Douglas Scott's crimes, we knew that the Department of Corrections was his destination, so that's where we headed to set up an ambush. As we saw a Police Scout approaching DOC, we shot at the veicle in an attempt to break out our friend. This was a case of misidentification as we truly believed that our friend Douglas Scott was in the back of that Police Scout. We didn't realize that there was a random guy in there until after the police officers were eliminated. Looking back at it, we made a mistake, and we should've made more efforts to identify the prisoner in the back of the cruiser before interfering (which was extremely difficult due to the cruiser's tinted windows).

• In the footage provided by the reporting player, you can be seen engaging a Police Scout with a suspect inside using lethal force. The explanation you provided is conclusive and we understand that you attempted to free your associate on the way to DOC, however in your actions and intentions you did not account for the fact that another, unrelated police vehicle could be entering DOC at the time.
  Generally, you should make sure to identify your target as best as you can before engaging in any sort of hostile action. You could very easily have had one of you drive up close to the cruiser to identify the suspect within it before engaging in hostile actions, which is what you should have done in this scenario to avoid this type of scenario.

• As you've stated in the above testimony, you understand what you have done wrong and how it was negligent of both your character's general safety and that of the server rules. Please keep these points in mind in the future, and remember that even if you make a mistake in the moment, you do not have to persist. I would encourage in situations like these that LEO and criminal role-players attempt a resetting of the scene or an open discussion about situations similar to these, utilizing both /report and available staff to help mediate and reset situations such as these. All players involved should keep these points in mind for the future.

• In the footage provided, you can very clearly be heard referring to the New Player that was detained in the police cruiser that you shot at as a "Tourist" whilst communicating with your associates. On an in character level, New Players are to be treated as any other player. Referring to them in any special way because of their New Player status is qualified as mixing and not permissible.
