 Backup Breach

How did the player break the rule(s)?  (300 words maximum)\

This started in Tequila la where I noticed one person winning a numerous amount of large pots, multiple upwards from 350k+. I took myself away from the table to go onto frequency and call this out which my gang had the idea of robbing him. I decided to change clothes to hide my identity and meticulously planned ahead how we would take action. 20 minutes went by after playing at the table and ID 141 got up from the table and had planned to leave. I heard him talking to a friend on radio regarding a pickup from outside. I removed myself from the table and promptly waited outside to identify the vehicle. We had scouts in the area to ensure there was minimal risk as well as a Kamacho for the ambush. I called out the vehicle was on its way to the bank and it was executed perfectly. I took my initiative to get ID 141 out the car and to the closest back alley, I must also point out ID 111 instantly tabbing out while under gunpoint with no intention to RP (Suspected Metagaming).  After frisking his pockets with minimal threat as there was only 2 guys which saw the situation occur and I knew we had them out numbered, I proceeded to rummage through his pockets whilst my screen froze and caused me to have to relog. As soon as got back which was within 30 seconds, I noticed upwards of about 6-8 people all now involved in the situation from multiple other gangs none related to ID 141. Both ID 182 and ID 28 ran over to me instantly when I had relogged to which you hear ID 182 say 'hands' and with no intent to see my reaction I was killed before I could even raise one arm.

(ID 141 and ID 111 are seemingly on the same frequency and fairly certain are apart of separate gangs)

Hi! Spyder Solicetto here! Thanks staff for taking this report! I do not have Footage as I wasnt told to "save pov" or get "/pm" by somebody.

I just logged on and was hearing on the radio there was shots over by Tequi La La. I drove by and Kaleb told me immediately leave and I did so that (it shows me in the elegy driving in and imed away) I had no prior interaction nor interactions with the other party after this happened.

  • [Notified In-Game] - Kaleb_White (ID 97) - In the beginning of the provided video, why did you hit the vehicle?

Kanan Stark had observed one of the occupants winning large amount of money at Tequi La La (somewhere around 600k) and we had set up a plan to rob them. Since the money was at such a large amount the risk vs reward was heavily outweighed by the money. The reason for hitting him was so that we could stop him, give him valid demands and rob him, and also to make sure he couldnt run to the NCZ and deposit his money at a bank, preventing us from doing anything. I feel that the hit was well executed and as you can see in the video I made sure they werent travelling at high speeds so that the fake crash would be realistic.

I very vaguely remember this situation, I was not asked to save POV. From what I remember I just saw a crowd of people near Royals HQ, and I called it out on freq that somethings happening at royals hq. When I said this I never asked for back up, and it was also said in our faction chat that no ones allowed to come there to do anything due to the back-up rule. I just drove there saw a crowd of people, and left once I asked Rashad, what's going on, he said its void. I then left.

Hello and Thank to @Kazjii and @Aldarine for handling this report.

The situation started when me and Teddy where driving on our way to the bank when we witness a crash, we went to go check up on the red car cause we knew it was void and soon after  2 people on bikes hopped out and put the occupants in the red car under gunpoint.
Me and Teddy disperse from the area and Teddy informs me that the person being robbed was a close friend of his who had at least 300k from playing poker. Also taken into consideration that the robbery was happening to a royal ally on royal turf we decided to assist.

Where did you go and what did you do after leaving the original scene?
I am unsure whether you are referring to the crash scene initially or the shootout scene at the end but I will answer both. After the initial crash and the players in the red car being held up I left the area and hid near the gentry manor hotel, coordinating a move with Teddy on radio. As per after the shootout, I headed towards Pillbox to treat my wounds and then to LSC.

Why did you tell them to shoot at the player?
I told Teddy specifically to shoot because I knew that he had a very close relationship with the player getting robbed and because the player getting robbed had a gun pointed at him and his life was endanger, he had DM rights.

Further, can you please explain why the player wasn't granted the same advantage as prior to his disconnect?
Only Mod+ can forcibly pause and reset RP, this is wasnt a simple C0 during a chase that can be handled easily. Any attempts of a reset or a pause would have been really messy due to the context of the situation and the amount of players swarming around. I personally left the area when I found out that the player C0ed and came back when he logged in again. What happened to the reporting party was really unfortunate however there was nothing I can do personally to stop it without creating a mess.

As for the backup breach claims, my footage can speak for itself. Other gangs showed up because there was alot of commotion in the area and not because anyone got called.

My footage will be sent directly to Kaz and Aldarine as it contains staff chat.

Hello and Thank to @Kazjii and @Aldarine for handling this report.

I was in my house and was told to come HQ on freq and was told one of void was being robbed, upon my arrival we couldn't find him after I was there for about a minute or two Teddy said on freq he think he found him so everyone on freq went there seen void guy on his knees being robbed.

When we seen the guy with his gun out and void guy on the floor we went over to him Teddy killed him as i was jumping over the fence and the guy in the kamacho started shooting, the only shots i fired was at the kamacho, first one was when he started shooting us and like 30 seconds after when he drove back down as can be seen on the PoV by the reporting party.

That was all I had to take part in this.

Thank you for reviewing the report.

Kind regards,
Dom

I was told to go around that back when there was no way to go behind any building that's the reason why I stopped on that corner as I thought they were talking about that 'back' then once I was told to hurry up, I started running. Their instruction wasn't clear to me at that moment.

Teddy was there right in front of me right before the person disconnected. You can't see it from his pov because he was facing my side, but from my perspective, Teddy was already there before the player crashed. Teddy noticed that reporting party crashed, so he gave him around 10sec once he returned and then came to me. He was already running towards me before reporting party crashed on the scene and I made it aware to teddy about that in /b incase he didn't see it.  Also we are not admins to pause on going situation, reporting party never even attempted report it ig. He was asking for command as soon as he logged in after his crash, I had no idea which command he was talking about.

My shadowplay wasn't on but I was told to save pov for DM and Backup breach. I would like to clarify that, Teddy was following me from tequilala and he cracked a joke saying "get this guy, he have tons of money in his hand" while we were heading towards the bank then within 2-3 seconds of that, we were rammed by a Blue kamacho so I and Sosa thought that was Royals messing around. Teddy ran towards me because he thought it was an accident but he noticed 2 guys pulling out guns on us. Teddy saw us getting robbed from start to end so he had DM right. Regarding backup breach, the Reporting party tried to rob me in the most populated area of the city and right in front of Royals HQ and expected them to not see it or ignore it. No backups were from our side.

Sosa Derose here,
I was watching a show on Netflix so as soon as I was rammed, I tabbed out to pause the show and I attempted to turn on the engine when I tabbed in because I thought it was royals who rammed us and it was some sort of joke as Teddy was cracking a joke while following us on his bike with another royals member. I don't think me trying to turn on the engine affected this whole RP scenario at all.

Thanks

One point which I was trying to bring up regarding this matter was the fact the robbery would of had a swift execution without the rule breaks and my dc.  It would of been a quick robbery as it was a pretty public place however knowing the reward it seemed completely worth it. If the very few members which were at the scene wanted to do something about it, their response would have to be quick as like I've stated it would of been an in and out robbery. However, what actually happened was them lingering around the area not wanting to intervene until they overwhelmed us with numbers from other gangs while I had disconnected. This then gave them the confidence to act. I do also believe dragons started shooting at Kaleb once he began opening fire after I was killed.

Without the backup and Dc from myself I believe this RP scenario would of gone very differently.

If someone tells you to come HQ on freq and when you get there more information comes out that its void being robbed how is that backup breach.

You're outside our HQ on our TURF and there is 20 people riding around from multiple different crews on a main busy road.

Anyway last thing I am saying regarding your question, thanks.

Thank you for submitting this report and for your patience while this report was under review. We would like to extend a note of appreciation for the limited back and forth as well as the timely responses. For larger reports such as this we find it appropriate to ensure that everything is reviewed in a detailed manner to gain insight to all sides of the story so we may conclude appropriately but would still like to apologize for the lengthy review.

Following significant review as well as consultation with numerous staff members, we will be concluding this report as follows:

Rashad_Hunter will be receiving a warning for utilizing a crash for advantage.
Teddy_Gambino will be receiving a warning for utilizing a crash for advantage.
Rashad_Hunter will be receiving a warning for requesting/receiving backup.
Teddy_Gambino will be receiving a warning for requesting/receiving backup.
Dom_Versace will be receiving a warning for requesting/receiving backup.
Kaleb_White will be receiving a warning for ramming another player.

To explain the rationale for the above warnings, we would like to detail each one to provide further clarification so future situations are handled with more care and consideration.

Advantage Following Crash:

As shown within the evidence as well as known by players within this scene, the reporting player froze and disconnected from the server. In regards to disconnects, the rules very clearly state:

Players reconnecting must be given all opportunities held prior.

Although this situation was fairly large with numerous people involved, the number of aggressors to the situation was actually fairly minimal. Regardless of staff involvement in the situation, that does not negate the fact that the reporting player should have received all opportunities that were present prior to their disconnect.

Immediately upon the player reconnecting they were aimed at and shot which was not what was actively about to take place prior to the disconnect. Within submitted footage (titled Kaleb’s POV) it can be seen that a red vehicle as well as a bike were heading down a ramp and not interacting with the reporting player and their robbery victim. They proceeded towards the visible Kamacho at the same time the player disconnected. Two reported players (Rashad_Hunter and Teddy_Gambino) begin to drive/run around the area, even going to the extent of running into the area of the robbery prior to the player returning. There was no attempt at resetting the situation or resuming prior positions upon the player’s reconnect and instead there was an immediate response to an OOC comment of him returning then action taking place.

Players are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure the player has the proper opportunities and advantages as prior to the disconnect - something as simple as waiting for them to gain their bearings and asking OOCly about the crash to ensure fairness all around. Within this situation we fail to see any attempts at making the situation fair on all sides and the immediate response is surely not what was what should have taken place.

Attacking Players Without Escalation:

As players were leaving with money, a plan was organized to conduct a robbery. To execute this plan, one player (Kaleb_White) utilized his Kamacho to ram into another player to cut them off and keep them from moving forward with depositing money. While it is understood the reasoning for this attack and the validity that came with watching the player leave with his winning, the attack came quite literally out of nowhere without any form of escalation or inherent hostile situation that was being intentionally inserted into. There should have been more escalation with the players prior to the immediate ram, be it a chase and evade, threats, etc.

Requesting/Receiving Backup

Within the report responses it was noted that a call was made to come to an organization’s (Los Santos Royals) HQ. This was at the same time that two of the reported players (Rashad_Hunter and Teddy_Gambino) pulled away from the active situation and began planning a response to it. From this radio call, Dom_Versace came to HQ and was pulled into the situation where he then participated in the response to the robbery.

What occurs in this situation that is improper is that two players naturally stumbled upon a situation and from that it should have only been those two players that interjected at all. To call upon other players within the faction to inform them about the ongoing situation is in violation of our backup rules. If one stumbles upon a situation taking place they should weigh the risk/reward of interjecting and make the choice to interject there or not. There should be no further communication about the situation to anybody else to then insert themselves as well

In conclusion we would like to remind all players that backup can be something fairly complex to think about but it boils down to something quite simple - is it worth your life, safety and freedom to interject in a situation that you are actively a part of. If there is any semblance of doubt - you should most likely not interject, this includes also leaving the area and calling for other people to join. We also want to ensure that players know that escalation needs to happen to make rational sense for engagements to take place. Overall the situation was handled appropriately for the most part with a few errors here and there so please do let these warnings serve as reminders to reconsider actions and proceed appropriately to prevent future mishaps.

If you have received a punishment that you disagree with, feel free to file a punishment appeal following the punishment appeal guidelines and format. If the reporting party suffered a loss greater than $25,000 in value, feel free to file a refund request following the refund request guidelines and format.
