ECLIPSE Network Update #3

Hello, everyone! In this announcement we will introduce you to some exciting features and news regarding the development of our main server! First of all, we have started closed beta testing with some of the members of our community and have been cleaning the code from any bugs or other loose ends that managed to remain hidden during development. What does this mean? The arrival of Eclipse Roleplay is very close!

In-game Voice-ChatIf you have watched the video to the end, you should have heard a player speaking in-game. Our server utilizes the CEF browser to transmit player microphone input to other players. The voice-chat includes directional and distant sound, which means that you will be able to determine the direction of the sound source and it will get louder the closer you get. The best part about this is, that you do not need any external software to use the voice-chat, it is all done through the GTA:Network client![spoiler=Voice-Chat Video][media]

Game Panel MapOur website developer has began the implementation of a server map within the game panel, which is going to display location names and points of interest, like dealerships, shops, homes, gas stations and other areas! We hope to have this completed before the launch date or very early after release.[spoiler=Map of San Andreas]

Department of Motor VehiclesThe DMV is a government institution that is responsible for driver licensing. In order to obtain a driver's license, you must pass a two-step tutorial, that will introduce you to some of the rules and regulations of the road. The first step involves a series of questions about road safety and regulations that are necessary to know for a good driver. The second step takes you out into the streets of Los Santos, where you have to demonstrate your skills in a practical examination route.[spoiler=Department of Motor Vehicles]

Faction SystemThe faction system supports two types of factions - government and criminal. Government factions include the police and medical departments, they receive their funding from the government treasury and can only be created by authorized personnel of Eclipse Network. All players are eligible to create their own criminal faction with just a push of a button. The system provides all factions with equal opportunities and does not give special treatment to any particular faction. The skill and abilities of faction leaders and members will determine their success in the criminal underworld of Los Santos. Finally, faction leaders are able to customize their factions, by changing names, descriptions, logos, creating new groups or ranks and granting them custom permissions within the faction.Support Eclipse Network!We are going to use hosting services of https://www.ovh.com/ to purchase a powerful dedicated server that should provide our players with a smooth gaming experience. It should also be capable of withstanding DDoS attacks that were experienced by GTA:Network servers after release.
