  1. Instead, I believe it should only be accessible by driver or main passenger seat imo
  2. Source: Given the Modview, gun store update, and f5 update all use the same UI style I think it's probably a safe bet that the customization update will likely give us a new, better UI
  3. Thanks, i learned a lot from this post great work ranger
  4. +1 just /dice [number] >> "Player rolled a X sided dice and got Y" Don't see why this wouldn't be extremely trivial to program. Bonus points if it forces the dice roll animation (currently "/anim wank" i believe) A similar thread that got some traction the other month:
  5. The word “extremely” gets cut off mid-word and goes into the next line halfway through
  6. More options for routes is a really good suggestion, as is a bonus available for returning the vehicle in decent condition. I added them to my list I do think freelance jobs could penalise you based on speeding, and like the other things suggested is basically already implemented (DMV driving test) but I also think it's a bit out of the scope of the suggestion and more of a general update that would be neat for freelance jobs
  7. Added it Burger shot and road worker were a major leap for freelance jobs, this would be a nice addition to upgrade the rest of the existing jobs. Also added a bit about an idea I had of showing your rank in /license if you're over level 5
  8. No need in my opinion, they’re garbage vehicles and that’s the fun in them. They’re something you get out of sheer necessity of no other option. You see someone chugging 80 on the highway in a citybee you know they’re down bad
  9. A way I could see it working is: 10 levels per job Working 1 hour in a day gets you +1 level up Missing a day gets you -1 level /license shows any job ID cards you're above say a 5 on e.g. [Road Worker] Construction Operative ((8/10)) [Burger Shot] Senior Crew Member ((6/10)) The ((x/10)) only being visible when you do /license normally without an ID so you can see your own skill level but others can not There is a major opportunity for fleshing out most freelance jobs here for what I feel is rather little dev work as there are already ways of tracking days logged in (free credits) and time worked (burger shot hourly wage) so it would effectively just be scaling pay or action time against this “level” to start with then maybe extras later on. I don't think it should be reset upon joining a new job as I don't think we should penalise someone opting for variety or being a jack of all trades. If someone wants to spend 3 hours a day with an hour on 3 different jobs to maintain a high skill level then I think that could be good. Here are some potential benefits of being high-level for some jobs (Either scaling per level, or just literally once you hit rank 9/10, 9 so you have a day of grace you can miss now and then): Fishing: The time between catches decreases Chance at catching a “big fish” which sells for more Road worker: Incidents yield more money Action time shorter Different uniform Access to new vehicle Burger shot: Ability to make a special burger (replenishes more hunger and costs more but takes more ingredients and ‘skill’ to make) Base pay/hour Different uniform Money truck: Action timer shorter Pay The choice to pick a short-distance job or a long-distance one or maybe just /requestnewjob that can be used once between jobs Trucker: More truck options (rented, not their own) Pay Some special tag on CB radio before every message e.g. "Player 45: [Senior Trucker] Hey guys" I know there'd be no way to know this over the radio but it'd foster recognising regulars maybe Farmer: (Credit to Quizzly) Shorter timer for wheat to grow Better wheat quality chance (bags of grain sell for slightly more) Different uniform Bus Driver: (Credit to Squirtle) More routes available Bonus pay if they return the vehicle with 900+ health Different uniform More bus options (Shuttle bus for example) Looking at the above quick ideas, I'd say easy wins for an initial version would just be pay scaling, different uniform, faster actions, and /license changes as one or all of these apply to most freelance jobs and would improve a lot of them.
  10. I also feel like this is downplaying it a fair bit, because being discharged ends months or years of progress, and likely disallows them from joining similar factions. And since we’re making comparisons of LEO and criminals, you pretty much never see someone being kicked from those factions compared to the frequency you do in legal factions, and worst case scenario you can probably join another one or start your own even. And that’s fine. It shouldn’t be the same for both sides as they’re completely different.
  11. They can already be suspended? What?
  12. As a former faction leader (DOC) I see absolutely nothing wrong with OOC reinstatements. When we became less strict in allowing people to ooc reinstate it allowed for people to be more creative with their characters and take risks and do things they wouldn’t have done. (E.g @Wolokai142 upscaling their anger over time to the point of breaking the force matrix and blasting the fuck out of an inmate, reloading, and blasting more creating a great storyline and major IC consequences. Then OOC reinstating later on and losing years of that ic progression with the only real benifits being going up a few ranks and skipping them with prior experience) Without it people will play cookie cutter guards who did nothing wrong ever at risk of being completely reset and losing everything in terms of months or even years of progress in the faction. With ooc reinstatement it means people can craft storylines and actually face serious IC realistic consequences, whilst not losing so much ooc time. Even with that being said, ooc reibstatements aren’t just a free “nothing happens to me”, you lose all relationships and history and memories that your previous character had. I don’t have much to weigh in on other consequences you might want to see, but I think the point about ooc reinstatements is rather inaccurate and doesn’t represent most scenarios it’s happened. And it definitely doesn’t happen so frequently to the point it’s abused by people providing poor rp and just reinstating as if nothing happened). A criminal majorly fucks up they lose some assets and get hours jail time, an LEO majorly fucks up and basically changes the entire course of their character.
  13. English vs English (simplified)
  14. Having the rotation as a manual input would be so good, Q & E or arrow keys or something, not sure how the size could be fixed though
  15. You can’t just start a discourse like this without properly defining what each one is bro
  16. Did you turn it on with /phone
  17. What about when they’re cuffed and inside a police vehicle it contributes some “served time”, at least mitigating arguably the least-roleplay part of being arrested, that seems like a decent middle ground. Like maybe the time served isn’t 1:1 and also doesn’t take off your last hour (like being offline)
  18. How would they know how many there is before they actually respond?
  19. It’s not quite that simple, people who attempt suicide rp end up surviving nearly all of the time since md are always there on the scene so the script (and rules as they stand) never allows them to die, and therefore nlr. This creates a pretty infinite cycle of the same few people pushing suicide rp up to multiple times a week from what I saw in CRU. I believe this is the point Lynn is trying to make more politely (correct me if I’m misinterpreting it). I think it’s the people who make that kind of RP their whole personality and are a demanding resource on MD that is the target for this proposed rule change. If that is the case though, maybe MD could consider some alternatives to deal with repeat “customers”. What that could be, I don’t know, but I guess irl they’d be committed to some sort of center idk?
  20. Who needs a permit. I don't see anywhere that says you need one. And if no business license exists for it then.... Worst case scenario is what, you do it and generate some RP then are eventually harassed by the government to shut it down? Seems like either way it could generate some fun rp bro including fighting it IC. Don't give up that easily if you really wanna do it Screw them do it anyway lol
  21. Do it anyway bro, don’t let them tell you what to do
  22. What the fuck bro but I guess it’s better than some aliases I’ve seen people have of me like “DOC Hitler” and “admin ash” also yeah the suggestion linked in the post above is what I’d like to see implemented
  23. You have access to the same vehicle so you can do the same things in it with the exception of ramming I guess since they have ram bars and normal ones don’t so I’m unsure what the issue is? Or is the point that one of their main daily driver vehicles shouldn’t be allowed to do that and they should have a specialised one?
