  3. Rock Bathsheba, originally, Rock Beauregard. Born in 1977 in Bastrop, Lousiana, one of many sons of the Beauregard family. Rock was raised in this world in a poor environment, an environment that consisted of alcohol, drugs, and physical abuse. His family had a strict hierarchy and was generally isolated from the outside world, the only contact they had was through their dealings with drugs and alcohol, much of which the Beauregard family manufactured. Due to the strict isolation, Rock was never socially adept, and he had no real knowledge of the world around him or any of its many wonders. Instead, Rock and his siblings were strictly taught at home and were only taught basic survival and communication skills. At the age of 14, Rock became more and more interested in the outside world. He and his siblings would often escape the compound in which their family resided. However, due to being inept in nearly every aspect of life, they wouldn't be accepted, and would generally cause trouble in the neighboring town. However, due to never being caught by the law, Rock and his siblings only had to suffer at the hands of their elders. This was Rock's life, for all his childhood and adulthood, until now. On a Sunny afternoon, in June 2022, Rock and his family were in the middle of cooking a batch of methamphetamine when the compound was surrounded by sirens. Unbeknownst to Rock, this would become the end of his previous life, and the start of his new one. As the compound was raided by authorities, all of the Beauregard went into DEFCON-1 mode, shots rang out, and many ran around in a frenzy. Rock, however, had never been this scared, he hunkered down, and as his flight response kicked in, he escaped the compound. To this day, Rock does not know what happened to his family, however, he knew that he couldn't turn back. With the lack of social skills, and not having much else than survival and basic communicative abilities, Rock had a rough time as he traversed through several towns, eventually states, until he found himself at what became his new home, San Andreas. In San Andreas, Rock met a group of people, to him, seemed familiar with his siblings and parents. They called themselves the Bathshebas. The Bathshebas accepted Rock into their group and treated him as one of their own, and through them, Rock was indoctrinated into the Church of Flarg, and their beliefs. Knowing no better, it wasn't difficult for Rock to get accustomed, and through his newfound family, he was helped to erase his past, and become Rock Bathsheba. Ahead of Rock lies an unknown path, a path of adventures, and mysteries. Will San Andreas accept Rock for who he is and what he believes?
  4. Sorry, but we are not interested in allowing shadows to be removed, this was a decision taken by the admin staff team after meetings and it is the direction that we want to have the community towards. It grants too much of an advantage in especially shootouts (and dark areas), the settings provided by GTA 5 are sufficient for computers in this day and age to be able to play the game. We do not want users to feel forced to alter their graphics outside of the game to have the same advantage as others. It is a roleplay server, and not a PVP-focused server, which the removal of game shadows (among other graphical adjustments) meta stems from. We are sorry if there is someone out there that absolutely cannot play this game without removing shadows, and using the settings provided by GTA 5 themselves. However, benchmarks of GTA 5 have proven that GPUs as old as 660 (and older, including hardware from that era) can run this game decently well with the settings provided. Rage MP may have some optimization issues but we have staff that runs on old hardware and they have no issues playing the game. No one is immediately banned for removing shadows, and if they are, in most cases, they are unbanned after proving that they have uninstalled them. In normal circumstances, Unfair Game File Modifications follow a punishment progression like other punishments. There are however cases where this may differentiate, as there could be other factors involved.

This man just called u buddy, to me, that is an insane L and attack to your whole identity. I, a noble administrator and one with high intellect, will have to conclude this as an L - your new name will be LhiLoooop

  7. Hey, you can utilize the player report section to submit staff complaints. Alternatively, you can also contact MrSilky or Redhot directly (e.g. discord) to raise complaints. Edit: Commendations can also be sent to MrSilky and Redhot directly, they monitor our admin staff closely and it will surely help them! I'll see if we can create a section for Staff Commendations however.
  8. Overhauling DOC to make the stay more enjoyable from an OOC perspective (although irrelevant to the current topic which is about freelance jobs) is on the agenda! I hope to be able to create a direct communication line created between DOC leaders and relevant staff to expedite improvements to DOC, as Chunder has been extremely enthusiastic about DOC and has had many great ideas!
  9. Hey, I understand your frustration to an extent. It will always be more rewarding to socially engage with other criminals and to do things in groups. For Chops: There's a change planned for the chop shop system that would allow a car jack to be used anywhere, giving the option to remove certain parts (not all) of low/medium cars. This will allow someone, like yourself, to chop cars to an extent without needing the full setup. Obviously, having the full setup will allow you to remove e.g. the engine and the vehicle scrap (frame), which rewards the most. ATM Robberies: When you attempt to break into an ATM and you get caught by the police, if you surrender and have no other illegal items on you, that'll result in a mere vandalism charge. The rewards in that aspect outweigh the risk. Further; the House Robbery script which is soon completed is going to be something that solo criminals can do. When it comes to criminal content, it can sometimes be difficult to balance it around solo gameplay, because we favor player interaction much. But this does not mean that you can't be a solo criminal, it'll just be harder overall.
  10. This is a very good post! We have recognized the need to overhaul most legal jobs, it is just an extensive project and the developers have quite a few in the works at the moment. As a start, I will bring the following up with the developers but cannot provide any guarantees that they will/can be implemented: For the Coroner Job, add the ability for admin staff to create incident sites similar to the road worker job, so that the job isn't entirely reliant on players dying and other players actually calling them, while still keeping the option to call a coroner. I'm also going to ask for a coroner application on the phone to make it friendlier for newer players who don't know the number, and for a coroner drop-off to be added at the coroner HQ by Central MD. For the Trucker Job, I'm going to ask for orders to be generated when there are none, orders that won't actually stock businesses but still allow players to engage with the trucker job. For the Tollbooth Worker Job, I'm going to ask for a passive salary similar to that of a burger-shot employee. While it may not solve the aspect of it being lonely, it is unfortunately a job by nature that relies on players actually driving through the toll booths, which isn't a necessity. I'm also going to ask about the possibility to give players the ability to form "job groups" in order to perform jobs together that make sense, e.g. garbage, and coroner.

  14. Hello, A very tl-dr and not-so-definitive list Drug Labs: Upcoming changes that will add additional tables, and move 2 labs (1 to the city borders, and 1 away from right next to the highway). add identity to each drug lab (e.g. lab 1 will consist of 6 coke tables + 1 regular table, lab 2 will consist of 6 weed tables + 1 regular table, lab 3 will consist of [..]) Drugs: Balancing being reviewed of the non-meta drugs that aren't being made & sold over others. House Robberies: Nearly done, the only aspect being looked at right now is the acquisition of the job and some other minor questions which we believe that we found solutions to this Saturday. Unlike other criminal activities in which you are given a tool and basically told "good luck", this will probably be friendlier for newer criminals/players in terms of being guided by the script more. Drug Update: No update on this in general, unfortunately, it is an extensive project by Osvaldon. Weapon Update: Nearly done, however, Osvaldon has had to take some emergency time off for personal matters. Clothing Update: Was also being worked on by Osvaldon and the Modding Team, alongside the weapon update. This will feature a wide variety of clothing for civilians, criminals, and legal factions. As you can tell by Bala's very enthusiastic posts on this thread. Tutorial Update: Last Saturday we spoke of updating our server tutorial and making it friendlier to new players by introducing them to our script mechanics through "tasks" commonly seen in MMO games. While this may not seem big for some, the goal is to retain newer players which will in turn benefit all areas of the community. This project has not been started yet but will be started. Legal Jobs: We are going to experiment with a system to encourage players to work other jobs, by providing salary boosts to less popular jobs. This is to discourage everyone from doing a single job. We also recognize the need to overhaul legal jobs, something which would be a bigger project once everything else has been completed. Chop-Shop System: Looking at making the chop shop system more accessible for players that aren't in a group or willing/able to spend money on a full setup. Right now we're exploring the ability to use car jacks anywhere on the map which will offer limited chop-shop functionality of low/medium cars for obviously a smaller reward than a full chop-shop that utilizes other tools. Currently, the system is created so that it checks for a property and if there is no property nearby, it can't be placed. Creating a system where the car jack can be placed anywhere will also allow us to explore more features in the future, such as being able to place tents for RP, etc. There are also some QoL features being added for example /ame's when interacting with criminal NPCs, action timers to picking up marijuana (so it can be canceled), action timers for ventilators (to avoid accidentally picking them up mid-cooking process). Faction Services is currently working with the factions whom they manage for further QoL requests. We've also started with weekly development meetings recently to ensure a steadier rate of updates, even if smaller. Obviously, larger systems such as overhauls, and new systems, require a longer time. Oh and, please don't post comments that the founders should "sell" the community, not constructive by any means, it's not up for debate!
  15. Cops camping banks randomly should not be happening, and if it is, reach out to their faction command and/or Legal Factions Management. If it becomes an issue, they can implement OOC regulations similar to that of drug labs, which was implemented by faction leaderships themselves. Responding to In Character events and proactively preventing a bank robbery is not "camping" a bank. If let's say, a police officer sees gang-affiliated lookouts setting up, that's a cause for them to increase their activity at a bank, or if they perhaps have received information In Character that a bank robbery may occur. There are near daily bank robberies where the majority of them are 'successful', if cops camping banks was an issue, a lot more robberies wouldn't happen. And if cops are at a bank for the aforementioned reasons, there a ways to get them away from the said location which wouldn't be held to the cop-baiting rule (as it would have a proper IC reason). I'm going to close this with that ^ Please inquire with Legal Faction Management and/or Faction Command if you believe there are officers/deputies that deliberately, for absolutely no reason at all, sit outside a bank. (Any suggestions about how banks work or how they should work, should go into their own suggestions).
  16. Oh so that's why I thought my car was bugged. That's cool.
  17. Hello. Staff Auctions will begin soon again by Kris! There has been a slight pause period after a large surge of unique vehicles entering the economy through the anniversary event. We have plenty of vehicles and houses that will be auctioned.

    Car Wash

I think a functional car wash and/or the ability for players to clean their car somehow (whichever is easier) would be a great addition.
  19. OMG, is that the Eepasheep?! Welcome to Eclipse
